I am a DMFT, LMFT and I have extensive experience supporting individuals, couples and families on their journey through events that influence how we are functioning in relationships and our community, including premarital counseling, divorce, attachment concerns and cultural issues regarding acculturation and assimilation. I work with a range of disorders and l have specialty in depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress, chemical dependency, oppositional defiance/conduct and grief/loss. I work with children ages 7 and older, along with adolescents and adults.

As a marriage and family therapist I specialize in work with individuals and couples who find themselves wrestling with their own brokenness. I am passionate about building healthy connections with my clients and using that platform of trust to help facilitate self-compassion, shame resilience, and healing. I offer a non-judgmental, strength based perspective, in which I work together in a team approach with my clients to help them achieve their goals. I identify as a Christian and incorporate faith into my sessions as much or as little as clients want.

Julie graduated from The Adler Graduate School of Minnesota and The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Special Education Teacher, and Parent and Adult Educator. Her specialties include working with families with young children, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with daily functioning or are striving for a more balanced, holistic, and fulfilling lifestyle. Through the use of multiple approaches, including CBT, solution-focused, humanistic, Adlerian, nutrition, and fitness counseling, she facilitates relational living within a systems approach.

Introduction: My most common client is someone wanting to work on their marriage/intimate relationship. These clients typically feel frustrated, unheard, and anxious about the state of their partnership. Many don’t know how to achieve change in their marriage or what healthy/fair expectations would look like. Although the most common goal for my clients is to save their marriage or mend a broken connection, sometimes they specifically need help leaving a relationship that no longer serves them.
