I work with individuals, couples and families of all ages with a wide range of mental health issues. These include but are not limited to Alcohol and Drug related issues, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Dual Diagnosis and relationship related issues. My training started at The University of Kentucky studying Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy. I received my Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky in 2005. I have a passion for what I do and cannot imagine doing anything else.

I believe that we have to be able to live and deal with stress and issues in the present to achieve success, joy and peace that we seek. Life situations and/or Mental Illness can keep these from happening. Having that neutral person to be a support person can be what's needed . My specialty focus lies in dealing with Depression, ADHD, Marriage Therapy, Anxiety, Infant loss, and Trauma. I have experience with kids, adolescents and adults. Approaches used are (CBT, Psychodynamic Therapy, Gottman Method and Play Therapy) effective with children, adolescents and adults.

Prior to moving to Kentucky, I practiced counseling in Wisconsin and Minnesota since 2005 at various clinical settings, such as outpatient mental health clinics and in private practice. As someone who wants to change the world, I chose the counseling profession because I came to believe the best way to facilitate that change is by helping individuals, marriages, and families become fully healthy emotionally, physically, relationally, and spiritually.

I am a clinical psychologist in Louisville, KY. Educated at Vanderbilt and Colorado, I'm trained with marriage therapy and chemical, sex, work/money addictions. A pro-marital Christian, I'm pro-recovery and proactive. I'm homework intensive using workbooks, community support, and my user-friendly blog and podcast on my secure website. Personally trained by Drs. Patrick Carnes and John Gottman, I am internationally certified to counsel sex addicts and their partners. I have worked in several agency settings and private practice settings which has given me the tools to provide therapy for a diverse range of clients. I strive to always find ways to enhance the therapy tools I have to better serve clients and meeting them where they are at in their journey. I provide therapy for a range of concerns including mild-moderate depression, anxiety, substance use, life adjustment/stress management, and career. My experience includes in-patient, university, community, and private practice settings. I am a board approved clinical supervisor and serve as the clinical director of a university training center for graduate students.
