We don't always get a choice in life, yet we are able to change how we think and look at what is in front of us and if it doesn't align with who you are and what you want, then I am here to help you along the way to become the best version of you and assist with you in achieving and feeling your best self including emotions and being as a whole.

I take a person-centered approach with the understanding that your experiences make you the expert on yourself. As a person in long term recovery myself, I adopt a “meet people where they're at” approach.

My approach to treatment is very client-centered - people enter treatment at various stages of readiness and I am here to meet you wherever you may be. I understand the nuances of beginning therapy, meeting a new therapist, setting goals, sharing personal information, and ironing out your biggest concerns - even when you feel unsure. My hope is to help each client unlock their sources of happiness and hope so they can confront whatever challenges they are facing - mood issues, anxiety, substance issues, family dynamic concerns, trauma, interpersonal relationship issues, school-related problems, self-harm, gender issues, etc.

I am a licensed certified social worker who specializes in substance use, eating disorders, and OCD treatment. This includes the umbrella of trauma, mood, and anxiety disorders. My work incorporates intersectionality and the ethos of community-based care. I have particular interest in working with BIPOC, LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, unhoused, and disabled people in need of support that meets their needs with deeper social/cultural contexts in mind. In and outside of the field, I've learned the beauty of healing through connection, and how to support varying individual/group needs through this.

I believe that the success of therapy is based on the strength of the relationships. I try to create a safe space free of judgement that can allow for that relationship to grow. My hope is that I can help individuals and families explore their understanding and meaning of the problems that they experience. I also hope to give more voice to the values and strengths that run counter to those problems and closer to the preferred path of families and individuals.

Facing change can be overwhelming. As I guide people through the process, I operate from a place of compassion, authenticity, and empathy. This may look different depending on the problems at hand. With addiction, I hold clients accountable to following through with their recovery plan. I do not shy away from defenses, manipulation, or games played by the addicted mind. With mental health problems, I tend to follow my client’s lead, offering support and suggestions/techniques grounded in science, research, and my experience. I also specialize in treating family members with loved ones struggling with addiction recover on their own.
