I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluation. Most referrals reflect concerns around life-long problems as well as recent changes in functioning that concern friends and family. Most of the time, patients and their families/supports are looking for empathy and clarification around real-world problems. This in-depth clarification allows for real-world treatment recommendations that can make a difference. Lengths are taken to minimize time in office. These include telephone and video interviews as well as electronically submitted forms and fact sheets.

Life is constantly changing. Navigating these changes can be incredibly difficult. Chances are at some point most us will experience difficulties in our careers, intimate relationships, family relationships, and in relation to ourselves. Many of us, at some point, will face the impact of trauma, loss, addiction, anxiety, or depression. It is normal to feel overwhelmed, stuck, and helpless at times to deal with the mosaic of challenges life presents us. These challenges get in the way of living the life we want. If you're ready to take your life back you've come to the right place. Longmeadow-Counseling.com

I also believe in treating the whole family system, when possible, and feel that the best way to ensure sustainable change is to support and strengthen more than just the individual.
I've been a mental health professional for 25 years and have spent that time challenging and supporting teens, adults, couples and families facing a myriad of mental health, addiction and life-transition related issues. I have extensive experience working with local school professionals and also thoroughly enjoy working directly with teens and young adults around life-choices, healthy relationships and transition-related challenges as they venture into adulthood. Finally, I provide couples and families support to aid in navigating the demands of marriage, relationships, divorce, parenting and other life stressors.

I primarily work with aging and/or disabled adults and caregivers coping with emotional and health care related challenges. Much of my work with clients focuses on adjustment difficulty related to declining health and diminished functional independence. Clients who are caregivers often struggle with managing career and family caregiving roles and also the needed transitions that can emerge in the latter half of life.

Hello, My name is Jordan Wilson. I am an outpatient therapist at Clearview Health & Wellness Group in Longmeadow, MA. I received my Bachelor’s of Social Work at Delaware state University in Dover, DE. I then went on to Springfield College in Springfield, MA where I received my MSW at the school of social work. Over the course of receiving an education I came to realize that when human beings experience trauma or severe life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel.

As a Certified EMDR Therapist I specialize in trauma, performance enhancement and anxiety/depression. I work with adults and adolescents to facilitate personal growth and achieve substantive change in their lives. Negative cognitions, unhealthy beliefs and emotions can be linked to unresolved disturbing/traumatic experiences from ones past. The remnants of these experiences can lead to low self-esteem, self-doubt, and emotional dysregulation. I assist clients to cultivate greater self-awareness while reprocessing the past disturbances in a way that enhances self-confidence, personal performance and interpersonal relationships.

I'm excited to announce I've transitioned 75% of my work to serve as the Clinical Director of The Center for Healing Journeys (wneketamine.com), the first Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) clinic in western New England. KAP is a powerful effective new treatment using the only legal, by-prescription psychedelic. 20 years of research has proven ketamine to be safe in the clinic, and brings robust recovery from neuro-rigidified disorders such as intractable Depression, OCD, PTSD, Suicidal Ideation, and ruminative anxiety disorder: 70-80% success with most disorders and 85%+ combined with therapy. I believe in a family systems approach to therapy and deem troubles in families as a problem in the relational context of the family system, rather than a problem with one person.
Not Currently Accepting Clients. I believe in the inherent value of each and every individual who chooses to seek out therapy and especially in the acceptance of those populations who have historically been marginalized or mistreated. I help individuals find understanding in who they are and to find hope for their future. Life can be very difficult at times and especially when we experience trauma, anxiety and depression. If you are looking for a better way to handle stress at work or with your family, it is imperative to find someone with the right training and experience.

Not accepting new clients at this time. If you are reading this, you or a loved one must be hurting. I know you have all the tools you need to find joy and purpose in life. We can work together to find the person you're ready to be. I am a compassionate, humanistic, person-centered therapist. I have been a practicing counselor for over ten years, and in that time I have come to learn that people need to experience a therapist who has genuineness, empathy, and unconditional positive regard.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
