Working with clients from ethnic minority groups is my passion; especially Brazilians, Latinos and Native Americans. Having experienced being an immigrant myself while living in Brazil, I am very aware of the unique difficulties facing newly arrived immigrants. Hello! I am currently offering telehealth services for clients; primarily young adults and adults. I specialize in helping clients cope with and manage anxiety, depression, mood or emotional dysregulation, and interpersonal or family conflict related issues. Techniques I explore include: CBT, motivational exercises, expressive based techniques, & humor! My goal in working with you is to establish a safe and empathic relationship, work to find a clearer understanding of your current difficulties, reduce & improve symptom management; strive for balance and acceptance in your life, and experience an overall improved quality of life.

I've been in private practice for 34 years. I've had extensive training in both theoretical and didactic psychotherapy. An important part of my training was my own work and research in understanding myself and my marriage and other important relationships. This is why I think I am so confident at being both a couples therapist and an individual therapist. I believe this is primarily an educational process or a re-educational process.

I work with all populations and provide home based therapy and outreach-- to the elderly-- and those diagnosed with complicated medical issues. ACCEPTing New Clients. Elizabeth Willems leads the Intercultural Psychological Services (IPS) practice. She focuses on traumatic memories, depression, stress management, relationship problems, and acculturation. Dr. Willems sees residents of CA, NY, MD, MA, FL, USA and select countries via phone/video. She holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University. She completed clinical training at the Center for Multicultural Training in Psychology, Harvard Longwood Psychiatry Massachusetts Mental Health Center, BMC Department of Behavioral Medicine, and Casa del Sol as well as other community clinics.

RVCC is a multi-service community-based mental health agency serving the Pioneer Valley since 1953. RVCC offers counseling and medication management at offices located in offices located in Holyoke, Chicopee, Easthampton, Springfield, and Westfield. RVCC also provides counseling in schools throughout Hampden and Hampshire Counties and on the campuses of Springfield Technical Community College and Bay Path University.
