“Change” is possible, but it is never straightforward especially when we find ourselves in the middle of it. As human beings, our entire lives are inherently developmental in nature. The complex process by which we may courageously begin to show up differently in our lives, and even in ourselves can be incredibly difficult to navigate at times. We are not meant to accomplish this on our own, and this is especially true after any sustained trauma. Everyone—regardless of age—is deserving of a space devoted to their growth and recovery. I am a firm believer there is no one-size-fits-all solution to the problem of being human!
I enjoy working with individuals of all ages, especially preteens/adolescents. My approach is collaborative, grounded in an embodied understanding of attachment theory and deeply trauma-informed. Modalities that inform my clinical approach include Trauma Systems Therapy, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Existential, and Attachment-Based Family Therapy.
I believe a sense of humor is a sign of health, and tears often are too. I combine toughness and tenderness in the therapy room when it comes to balancing the need for support in maturing and developing accountability along with the deep need for grace and acceptance that is at the core of any good therapy.
