general psychotherapy, Jungian psychoanalysis, and clinical supervision for students in psychology, psychiatry, analytic candidates, and professional psychotherapists interested in Jungian analysis.
I am a clinical psychologist and Jungian analyst. I work with a range of individuals whose lives have become problematic due to hurt, wounding, disappointment, loss, grief and general life suffering that has resulted in symptoms of impasse, anxiety, depression, dysfunction and/or a loss of potential. My view of the therapeutic relationship is of a mutual effort to work together to discover a way to continue psychological development, to seek a way to heal and find a deeper sense of vitality, renewal and meaning, In addition, I work well with university students, artists, and with those who are struggling with spiritual issues.

As a transpersonal, body and gestalt psychotherapist, EMDR and Comprehensive Energy Psychology practitioner, meditation teacher and hypnotherapist, I offer an embodied and integrated approach to therapy, coaching, consultation, and teaching. Our problems and difficulties are opportunities for growth and wisdom, our innate intelligence always knows exactly what we need to transform or heal. Often, we need to undergo a process of compassionately encountering what it is that we find unacceptable, terrifying, or seemingly impossible for us to bear or let go. Paradoxically, these are the things that can lead us into deeper relationship with our true self.

I have primarily worked with clients regarding life transitions/adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, self-harm, LGBTQ exploration, interpersonal conflicts, family dynamics, spiritual/faith/religious concerns or abuse, and boundary setting. I enjoy clients who are seeking to better understand themselves and growing their confidence in who they are. Only after we have insight and awareness can we try to make meaningful changes. I enjoy explorative, open-minded depth work that is holistic and fulfilling for the client. I am trauma-informed and use an eclectic approach with a psychodynamic foundation.

It can be overwhelming to try and to deal with the stress of everyday life while carrying the weight of unresolved stress. In time, that stress can cause us our perspectives towards others and how we feel about our lives to change. This is typically when people seek treatment to work through that stuck feeling, to pursue more meaningful lives that aren't weighed down by stress or their experiences. I work to create a calm, accepting atmosphere so that clients can more easily speak their experiences into existence and let go of the stress that keeps them stuck.

I believe how humans experience growth and how they change are the big themes of psychology. We grow and change through our relationships with others, but sometimes we can get stuck in certain relationship patterns that cause distress. Uncovering the dynamics of these patterns, how they affect our self-concept, our feelings, our understanding of others, and our nervous systems can be healing. Practicing new patterns of emotion, thought, and behavior, whether through talk- therapy, mindfulness practices, or a combination of both, can assist growth and change toward more compassion and connection in our lives.

Whether you are coming to therapy for anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, a life change, or just a general sense of unease, facing these issues can be scary. Healing isn’t easy because it involves confronting our pain and hurts. Healing can also be full of joy, hope, connection, and freedom as we experience new possibilities of being and relating. My approach is warm, relational, and integrative. I strive to offer a space where you can feel safe enough to look inward – to gently and compassionately welcome all parts of yourself with less judgment and shame.

As a therapist I support people who feel stuck in their personal or family lives due to feeling depressed, anxious, hurt, hopeless, or angry. All of these issues can make you feel discouraged and our lives become more difficult to manage. But, don't get discouraged. Very often pain in our lives is a necessary component for change and growth even if it does not look like that at this moment.

The ideal client doesn't exist. Everybody has issues ranging from traumatic experiences, difficulty family dynamics, medical comorbidities... the list goes on. What I ultimately aim to do is maximize and enhance overall well being through a therapeutic alliance. Many people find that their issue is simply not being able to comprehend or emotionally regulate themselves in a difficult situation. They need skills to do this. Their goal is to be able to function independently as much as possible. They want to thrive in the face of adversity because to them that means strength and courage.

I am a Pittsburgher and I'm proud to practice psychology in my home community. My goal is to see each client as a person first, and provide individualized healthcare. I see therapy as collaborative, and including both skill-building and self-exploration. In terms of self-exploration, I see the client as the expert in their own life, while a therapist is attuned to noticing themes or patterns that the client would have otherwise missed or avoided.

Nothing is wrong with you, and I don’t care what diagnosis (if any) you have (or don’t!). If something is off, but you're unsure what; if your head is clouded and you can’t seem to make clear decisions about your career, relationships, or health; if others’ insight doesn't help; if you’ve researched different solutions, but the internet is saturated; if you feel stuck, unsure, or overwhelmed and just sit and hope answers will come… I’m here. I’ll help you become so self-aware that you wholeheartedly trust your intuition, so answers come to you instantly: no doubt, no fear, no guilt. You just need a mirror to reflect your power!

I listen to what you have to say and not just hear it. You no longer have to carry your burdens alone. Contact me to see how I can provide a safe place to talk. I work with adults, couples, and adolescents.

Jungian Therapists

How does Jungian therapy work?

Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, focuses on a patient’s inner experiences and unconscious mind. Exploring a person’s unconscious mind can be achieved through several means, including the analysis of memories and dreams, and through physical exercises, such as art, dance, and word association.

How long does Jungian therapy last?

Jungian therapy is an intensive treatment type. Because its goal is to understand a person as a whole, including the unconscious aspects of them, treatment can range from months to years. Since patients learn the theory behind Jungian therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have completed.

Is Jungian therapy effective?

According to studies, many patients find success with Jungian therapy, and the century-old treatment has a devoted following. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Improvements in problem areas seem to continue even after the end of Jungian therapy, as people are able to continue working on themselves using the tools they’ve learned during the treatment.

Is Jungian therapy evidence-based?

Jungian therapy is theory-based, derived from the theories of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist often called one of the fathers of psychology, along with Sigmund Freud. Jung developed his theories from observing the problems of patients, and developed many theories of how the mind works. Subsequent psychological research has determined that Jungian therapy can lead to significant improvement in most patients.
