The Jungian perspective can be a deeply spiritual psychology.
Starting with practicalities, I see adults for individual & couples therapy. I’m licensed for in person or video in IL, on video in WI & IN. My practice is based on Carl Jung’s theory of Analytical Psychology. I have been trained in numerous therapeutic modalities that I use in addition to dream interpretation. I believe that therapy is about "growing" by becoming aware of what is unconscious. Painful events or feelings are like a force of nature. My goal is to face pain with you & find a deeper understanding of yourself or your relationship in order to achieve lasting change & wholeness. This is the path of individuation.

Progress is a professional passion of mine. I listen to you and help you discover your own solutions that will feel right to you. Practicing for almost 20 years, I use little 'therapy-speak,' but rather use my experience and training to have conversational style psychotherapy sessions in which we work to move forward in the direction you need to go. I bring a holistic approach to both individual & couples therapy where I draw on Cognitive Behavioral, Gestalt & Jungian, Trauma-focused, and Addictions therapies to create a safe space for growth.

I am currently learning Jungian dream analysis and foraging and am passionately curious about life and human nature.
We live in a world notoriously seeking conformity and suppression. How do we begin to unravel these layers to discover our own uniqueness and find the courage to show up? Conditioning and societal expectation often leave us feeling as though we are falling behind like we are supposed to have more figured out by now. Through a lens of compassionate curiosity I seek to help people in taking a deeper look beyond shame and explore preconceived notions about childhood wounds, sexuality, religion, relationships, career, and more. My goal is to empower you to discover and discern your own value system which may differ from your upbringing.

Hello, my name is Yolanda Jones and I am excited to meet you. I'm looking forward to getting to know you more and learning how I may help you feel better through our therapy work. My ideal client is one who realizes that change starts with him/ her. My ideal client is ready to take action following an understanding that yesterday’s trauma unknowingly, and unconsciously can keep one in a state of maladaptive feelings such as low self-esteem, anger, guilt, shame, jealousy, or perfectionism.

I believe that human beings have an inherent longing and need for wholeness and balance, which is our natural state of being. However, we sometimes encounter damaging or traumatic events or long term stress that interrupt this natural state. When we are imbalanced, we develop psychological and/or physical symptoms, and we begin to use ineffective coping mechanisms. The good news is that with the right tools, these struggles can be used as a path back to the wholeness we seek. Having worked with clients for over twenty years, I know firsthand the power of using our difficulties to point the way towards healing.

Hello, I’m a second-year Master's student in the Mental Health Counseling program at Indiana University, Bloomington. As a life-long learner, I believe there is always room for growth and new beginnings. I have been a client and fully appreciate how intimidating it can be to take that first step, and I am on this new path in part because of how much I benefited from working with my own therapist. I hope to help others who might be feeling a little stuck, distressed or uncertain and strive to bring my authentic self, flaws & all, into each session to create a safe space for honest sharing & reflection.

Imagine someone listening without judging or giving unsolicited advice. Imagine having a place to go where no one asks something of you, where you can let go of stress, anxiousness, or loneliness. Family, friends and society may not understand, or may be unable to carry our burdens. Therapy is intended to enter our lives when support is needed. The therapists at Well Heart Psychotherapy work with individuals, couples and groups to offer support and healing, and approach clients with compassion and nonjudgement, encouraging acceptance and gentleness within.

How long have you been hearing the call to a different way of being with yourself and the world? It might just be the quiet whispering of your heart urging you to something more. Or perhaps the whole universe is shouting that something has got to change, you can’t keep living like this. Avoiding our fear of change can keep us stuck. But your capacity to heal is only limited by your beliefs about what is possible. Genuinely transformational work is ultimately a mix of intentional effort and surprising playfulness. It’s about engaging your inner life in new and creative ways in the safe space of a trusted relationship.

Do you keep revealing to yourself and your loved ones that you are not the person you want to be? Have you kept yourself so hidden from others that now you have difficulty knowing who you are or what you want? Most likely, you have adapted over the years to challenges, maybe traumas, which have helped you survive. Except, those adaptations aren't serving you anymore, and they are actually making things worse. Perhaps you're afraid it's too late, that too much damage has been done. You believe the REAL YOU is hidden somewhere, you just need support finding yourself and living into your highest potential.

My education includes a PhD in Religious Philosophy, a Master of Divinity, and Master of Science in Psychology, and I am working on a PhD in Psychology. Although my schooling may sound impressive, I credit most of my ability in working the field is due to my upbringing and a legitimate concern for people. I also have a background in chemical dependency treatment.

Jungian Therapists

How does Jungian therapy work?

Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, focuses on a patient’s inner experiences and unconscious mind. Exploring a person’s unconscious mind can be achieved through several means, including the analysis of memories and dreams, and through physical exercises, such as art, dance, and word association.

How long does Jungian therapy last?

Jungian therapy is an intensive treatment type. Because its goal is to understand a person as a whole, including the unconscious aspects of them, treatment can range from months to years. Since patients learn the theory behind Jungian therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have completed.

Is Jungian therapy effective?

According to studies, many patients find success with Jungian therapy, and the century-old treatment has a devoted following. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Improvements in problem areas seem to continue even after the end of Jungian therapy, as people are able to continue working on themselves using the tools they’ve learned during the treatment.

Is Jungian therapy evidence-based?

Jungian therapy is theory-based, derived from the theories of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist often called one of the fathers of psychology, along with Sigmund Freud. Jung developed his theories from observing the problems of patients, and developed many theories of how the mind works. Subsequent psychological research has determined that Jungian therapy can lead to significant improvement in most patients.
