Starting with practicalities, I see adults for individual & couples therapy. I’m licensed for in person or video in IL, on video in WI & IN. My practice is based on Carl Jung’s theory of Analytical Psychology. I have been trained in numerous therapeutic modalities that I use in addition to dream interpretation. I believe that therapy is about "growing" by becoming aware of what is unconscious. Painful events or feelings are like a force of nature. My goal is to face pain with you & find a deeper understanding of yourself or your relationship in order to achieve lasting change & wholeness. This is the path of individuation.
I am primarily interested in using our supportive relationship, mindfulness, emotional expression & dreams to build insight into the unconscious processes that contribute to suffering. This leads to lasting change. My 20 years in ER hospital work seasoned me with a wide range of issues & trauma, including supporting health care & EMS workers.
My greatest gift is being able to sit with people in their pain. This is healing. Sometimes the work is to solve an immediate problem and sometimes the immediate problem is a portal to a larger exploration that leads to growth.
