About
Asking for help is often tough, especially for us as men. Who do you turn to in times of crisis or confusion? We are socialized to be independent and "do it myself." However, there are times where we all need some help. Someone to talk to that won't judge us or ridicule us. One of the most difficult things to do is to make that first phone call to someone you don't know, asking for help. You just hope to get someone trustworthy, compassionate and competent. These are my strongest traits, and I welcome your call today.
I specialize in "men's issues" and couples therapy. I work with men, both individually and with their partner, throughout the life span on issues of identity, intimacy, shame, and self-esteem. I help them successfully transition through chapters of their life by teaching them coping and relational skills.
I also work with adolescents and their families. I've worked extensively with college and graduate students in previous work settings (UCSD, USD, and TSRI). I am a certified "Sport Psychologist" or CMPC through AASP and have worked with high school, collegiate, Olympic, and professional athletes.
