Our team of therapists represent many identities & theoretical perspectives, and work from queer feminist and family systems frameworks. We value self-determination, holistic health, harm reduction, and disability & racial justice. Humans have a biological need to feel safe and worthy of love. In a world that repeatedly invalidates sensitivity and vulnerability, it’s not surprising that many of us struggle to feel happy, attain goals and find fulfilling romantic relationships. Some of us turn to substances, while others over function. If we are parents, we may find that we accidently repeat hurtful dynamics with our own children. Suddenly, or not so suddenly, we find ourselves struggling with guilt, shame and hopelessness. I am here to provide a warm and non-judgmental space, so that we may explore the strength and resilience you already posess.

Enabling individuals, couples, and families to make meaning out of their life stories is my main goal. Focusing on the meaning of your relationships can enrich your life. I enjoy working with couples as well as famiies of all sort--families of procreation, adoption, and choice. In addition to counseling, I consult with family businesses, non-profits, and congregations. In my role as Director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at Christian Theological Seminary, I supervise students to move toward their licensure as therapists. I provide private supervision and coaching on a limited basis through my credential as an AAMFT Approved Supervisor.

As an Emotionally Focused Therapist, I am trained in understanding how our emotions can drive our behavior when connection is missing. Most people seek therapy to reduce hurts that are causing suffering; increase a sense of wellbeing, love with more generosity and gain wisdom and skill. The greatest benefits of therapy come from self-reflection, increased ability for emotional expression and flexibility and exploration of things that block those desires - fears, old hurts, walls built up, addiction, traumas, etc. Whatever your struggles, your goals for change are often determined by our perseverance together.
