I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches with the belief that everyone's uniqueness requires an individualized approach to address his or her specific goals. In providing therapy, my goal is to establish a safe, therapeutic relationship with each client. This relationship will foster each client's ability to find their own resiliency to make the desired changes to enhance their life. I recognize change may be uncomfortable, however it is always possible.

As your therapist, my focus is to provide a safe space for healing and personal growth. I understand that a felt sense of safety takes time and as your support in the process, I will guide you through at your own pace. I have been in the field for over a decade and have experience working with individuals experiencing PTSD, adjustment to life changes, grief, depression, anxiety, ADHD and other Mental Health concerns.

We are constantly being challenged by the stressors in our lives - our partners, children, parents, work, and so much more. Then add in predispositions to mental health issues, past trauma, intergenerational issues and it's no wonder we're struggling to cope with everything. It's hard to find a sense of peace and to feel confident to manage these stressors.

Welcome! We provide traditional and holistic healing for mind, body & spirit health. We work with individuals, couples, families & groups age 5 and up. The facility is located on a main street with free parking. This is a private practice with a private waiting room in a very comfortable & soothing setting. Look for the yellow house with raspberry trim. Hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. When you call, we will do a brief intake, verify your insurance benefits & schedule your first appointment. We do not have a waiting list and can schedule your first appointment within the same week.

I am an Illinois and Wisconsin Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who has extensive experience working with individuals, groups, couples, and families. I have worked with several different client populations including couples with marriage difficulties, adults struggling with depression, anxiety, and other life adjustment issues, physically and sexually abused adolescents and adults, adolescents with mental health issues related to school, home, adjustment, or mental illness, and even adolescents and adults on the verge of suicide.

I believe deeply in the ability we all have to grow and create an engaged and meaningful life. My role as a therapist involves a steadfast commitment to developing an understanding of my client’s perspective. Self-empowerment, radical acceptance, and authentic human connection will be the cornerstone of our work. I utilize strength-based, affirmative, and neuroscientific theory to guide us... but healing doesn’t happen via theory. It lies in you—your hopes, hardships, successes, and infinite wisdom. Sometimes we’ll laugh. Often, we’ll cry. But either way... You won’t walk this path alone.

There are times where we could all use some help in getting through life’s difficulties. For the past 41 years I have provided children, adolescents, couples and families with support in the school, community, and private practice setting. I specialize in providing services, support, and advocacy for those with special needs and behavior issues. My experience as a special education teacher and school counselor has been an asset in my work with diverse populations and various needs at my private practice. I am a Certified LifeMap Coach and provide services to adults with Autism Spectrum profiles..

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Master's Degree in Applied Child and Family Studies with a Specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. I enjoy working with children, families, and individuals. I utilize a strength based and family systemic approach when working with youth, families, and individuals . I also utilize play therapy, expressive therapy, CBT, DBT, and AAIT to help people better develop skills to manage difficult problems. I believe in providing a healthy and safe environment to encourage internal growth.
