Hi! I'm Wes. So glad you are reaching out. I have been working with children and teens for over a decade, but have been a therapist since 2021. My creative but calm personality brings an effective blend of fun flexibility with sharp focus to each session. I do offer services in both English and Spanish.

Being able to discuss our current challenges calls for a supportive conversation. Often these challenges contribute to depression, anxiety, and interpersonal conflicts if not addressed. I work with individuals from all walks of life whether you are looking for individual, couples, or group counseling; I will ensure that your voice is heard.

As a therapist, I am interested in the words that people use to describe their experience — the words that have taken hold of us and told how us to feel, how to think, and so on. I am also interested in the themes that have emerged in someone’s life, the little mistakes they make and don’t understand, and their dreams (or nightmares).

My greatest wish in life is to be able to help make a difference in the world; counseling is my way. I have confronted a variety of issues, and work well with complex conditions. Some include depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, adoption, self-esteem, bullying, family conflict, ADHD, defiant behaviors, anger management, and attachment concerns. My work also extends to parental support in working with their children / adolescents more effectively in communication, discipline and affection. My main desire is for all clients to know they are not alone and help them on their journey. I will adapt to meet your needs.

I have over 30 years of clinical experience. Having been around for this long I have significant experience treating a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, OCD, Panic Disorders, ADD, addictions, relational difficulties, family turmoil, life transitions, parenting skills, physical health problems, and sexual dysfunction. I treat every client and condition with dignity and respect. Most importantly, I get results. When a client comes to see me they quickly begin to experience a sense of hope. Matthew Caston is an LCPC with several years of experience working with adolescents and adults with a variety of personal and clinical issues (mood, anxiety, behavioral, life transition, men's/women's issues, relationships, trauma, etc.). He sees strong conviction in those who are forthcoming about what brings them to counseling. "For me, it shows a level of vulnerability that I've come to respect greatly. As a counselor, I seek to help individuals find meaning, purpose and resilience through their struggles and challenges. For the past 15 years I have provided mental health services in various settings and with different populations. My focus in counseling is to develop a compassionate relationship with each person based on a radical acceptance of a person's history, difficulties and strengths. Cesar is trained in numerous therapeutic orientations that are grounded in the latest research in the field of mental health which enables him to personalize his treatment approach to the specific needs and goals of the individual. His training is focused on trauma and he specializes in treating clients with combat and non-combat-related issues such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, complex grief, attachment and reactive disorders, among others. He served as a Clinical Combat Chaplain in the US Army and as a forensic mental health clinician at a county jail for several years prior to private practice.

I have been told I am easy to talk to; but there are times when you need more than talk. I also am able to gently guide my clients through the stages of change at their own pace. I use a variety of treatment approaches when working with my clients. I try help my clients realize they are the experts of themselves, and as such they can empower themselves in finding their inner strength. We go on this journey of self-discovery together.

I received my bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree from Illinois Institute of Technology. I have a passion for connecting with individuals on an emotional level and taking an eclectic approach that is best suited to your unique wants and needs.
