G. Francis Giles MSW, LSW received a Bachelor of Arts from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master of Social Work/Clinical Concentration from New Mexico Highlands University. His work today is informed by experiences in geriatric residential care, in-patient adult psychiatric, crisis intervention, school settings, gender identity and orientation, and hospice. Aloha, my name is Chonell Candace Woode and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing across all of Hawaii. I specialize in working with adults and couples in focus areas of anxiety, depression, stress management, relationships, trauma, PTSD, grief and substance abuse. My background also includes an extensive history in working with active-duty service members and their families. My approach to therapy aligns to the unique needs of each client. Dr. Robert Storey obtained his B.A. in Liberal Arts at Washington and Lee University as a Philosophy major, minoring in Sociology. He obtained a Masters in Guidance and Psychological Services at Springfield College and was awarded his Doctorate in Educational Psychology ( Ed.D) while studying at American International University. He began his clinical internship in 1986 under the auspices of distinguished Dr. Frank Sacco, a protege of Karl Menninger with tutelage by Anna Freud. Dr. Sacco came from a long lineage of psychodynamic pioneers and Dr. Storey was privileged to be part of this tradition of groundbreaking psychologists.

As a practicing psychologist for over 20 years I have been privileged to be part of my client's lives. I moved from San Diego to the Big Island of Hawaii in 1996. My specialties have changed and developed through the years. Now I specialize in the treatment of adults suffering from trauma, addiction related illness, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and coping with illness. I have a particular interest in women's issues including domestic violence, work/life balance, parenting young adults, and menopause. I work with women and men facing transition points in their lives as they create renewed meaning in life.

Being our most resilient, healthy self is a process of acceptance and skill building. It is particularly hard when anger, sadness, and worry get in the way of connecting with others, advancing professionally, or maintaining health. It is important to have a safe place to process and solve life transitions without judgment. I utilize evidenced based psychotherapy and assessment to restore value based cognitions, mindfulness and healthy behaviors. Specialized treatment planning is the first stage of the process. Lisa Chilson-McCraw, MSW, LCSW, CSAC is very passionate about serving others and her community. Following a calling, she has committed her life to supporting and helping others through their struggles in life. She describes her work as a blessing, having had the opportunity to serve a multicultural and diverse groups of individuals in diverse settings over the last 14 years. She has worked with individuals who have experienced trauma, domestic violence/abuse (survivors and offenders), victims of human trafficking, substance use issues, grief and loss, significant life changes, and the behaviors/emotions that are often associated.

I believe that beneath every symptom that creates our suffering is a wise, healthy, and whole Self yearning to break free of old shackles and guide us home to the person we are meant to be. In this way, I help clients to reconceptualize their issues as road signs that are guiding them on their path of healing; just the same way that physical symptoms like a fever or ache directs us to an ailment that needs addressing, so too do psychological issues such as depression, anxiety, or addictions, point to a deeper underlying wound that is calling to be healed. Our goal is to not simply survive, but thrive.

I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. We all face challenges throughout our lives, whether in family conflicts, relationships, life transitions, or difficulties in managing our emotions. Seeking help can be the first step in making a change in your life. Because each client / client system is unique, I believe in providing a thorough assessment process before creating an individualized treatment plan. I am rooted in person centered therapy and believe that the client is the expert of their own life. I am trained in family systems, CBT, DBT, and Internal Family Systems.

I am motivated to help people gain insight, find resolution, and discover a way to move forward by the end of session. It you choose to participate in long term therapy we can work at a deeper level by having a closer look at your difficult experiences, reprocess and integrate, and discover new ways to relate to the world and find ease and stability, In our sessions we will emphasize building self knowledge at a pace that is right for you, and discovering and updating your ways of coping. For some this process is concentrated in a small area of change, and for some achieving well being means looking at and adjusting multiple areas.

It has been my experience that an important component of successful therapy is the therapeutic relationship that gets formed. I enjoy working with most people, and find that I am effective to the extent that a safe and trusting space can be created where my client is able to communicate whatever they need to without fear of judgement. I have also found that I am not able to be of any help at all, unless my client is invested in their healing process, willing to do the work that's involved, and is not looking for their therapist to tell them what to do.
