Aloha! I’m Phyllis Rooney, a trained Mental Health Counselor, serving children, teens, and adults in Hawaii. I love to work with motivated, ready to work clients. Clients who are open minded, flexible, curious about self. I am also very comfortable in working with clients from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer community (LGBTQ +). Moreover I am extremely comfortable working with clients who are depressed, clients who are experiencing debilitating anxiety and clients who are complex trauma victims.

Psychotherapy offers the possibility of enhancing awareness and understanding of oneself, ones experience of the world, and ones unique style of managing life's challenges. Through the process of effective psychotherapy people often move beyond the removal of problems or symptoms towards acceptance and awareness of self, and further towards actualization of personal potential.

Being a psychotherapist is a great privilege - to meet people at critical times, to come to know them deeply, and to help them sort out bewildering, sometimes frightening, often painful thoughts and feelings. Therapy is about relationships, past and present, and especially our relationship to our own interior. It's been my life's work to help people know themselves and make better decisions about their lives. I love working with Individuals, Couples, Families with children/adolescents or small groups of people who find life challenging and/or difficult in any way. Dr. Kehoe is a licensed clinical psychologist working with Dr. Brian Kehoe, Ph.D., LLC and North Shore Mental Health. Dr. Kehoe offers community based mental health services in 7 convenient offices located in Aiea, Ewa, Honolulu, Kahuku, Kaneohe, Makaha and Wahiawa. Dr. Kehoe specializes in adult, family and child psychology and offers a number of services including behavioral health treatment, child, adolescent, individual and family counseling, behavioral modification therapy, testing and assessment, psychotherapy, and skills training (ST). Outpatient substance abuse treatment and supportive services as well as face-to-face mental health crisis support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
