For the past 12 years, I enjoyed working with people seeking supportive services such as counseling and mental health referrals. While working with people in therapy, I utilize a strengths-based approach. I believe in meeting people where they are and providing educational as well as open social support with mental health needs. My goal is to help people express their thoughts/feelings and develop healthy coping mechanisms along with giving support. I work with individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and adults in counseling. I have a specialty in treating anxiety as a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP).

Emotions keep us from facing our challenges, and lead to avoidance of conflict or limit insight that is necessary for personal or relationship growth. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental, and open space to explore new perspectives and reframe old thoughts and behaviors that may have worked in the past, but are now part of the problem.

Jennifer earned her Master's degree in Social Work at Kennesaw State University graduating cum laude. She is currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a member of the National Association of Social Workers. A New Jersey native, Jennifer relocated to Cobb County in 2005 as a single parent raising two children. She is active in the community and her church. Jennifer has extensive experience working with varied populations: working with a pregnancy resource center; inpatient adolescents; individuals/families in the community; as well as substance abuse/mental health IOP/PHP treatment settings.

I enjoy working with teens, college students, and adults on issues related to perfectionism, people-pleasing, codependency, relationship dynamics, sports performance, and sports injuries. The clients I work with often struggle with underlying feelings of guilt, shame, resentment, anger, burnout, grief, not being enough/good enough, or vulnerability. There's often a general sense of unhappiness and a desire to live a more fulfilled life. As a former Division I Athlete and US National Team Member, I believe that one of the bravest things we can do is learning how to love ourselves through the process of owning our own storying. Often times the first brave step is just reaching out. Society tends to view therapy as something you need if you have “failed” on your own. However, I tend to think the counseling process is one where we invite someone else to walk alongside us on our journey of figuring out who we are.
