As a grief counselor for women and children, I understand that loss of any kind requires many strategies for releasing deep emotions of grief, sorrow, and pain. I use hands-on activities for processing grief: sand tray, kintsugi repair, mandala symbolic art, somatic coping skills, and other creative techniques because sometimes words are not enough.

As a first-generation Nigerian-American, I am especially passionate about holding space for those who identify as immigrants, children of immigrants and undocumented citizens to work through the often complex acculturation experiences and unique stresses they may face.

Traumatic events could include any experience a person perceived as threatening. My therapeutic modality is using a combination of Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Internal Relationship Focusing (IRF). I believe each client's body has the wisdom to guide us, client and therapist, through the resolution of trauma symptoms. I love to work with people who have spent considerable time in talk therapy and are now looking for alternative approaches.
