In my capacity as a mental health professional, I utilized sound theoretically based modalities, reality therapy/cognitive behavioral therapy and family therapy.
Anxiety, depression, marital/work problems, children, losses and trauma unfortunately are part of life. Quite often you may delay seeking counseling due to a variety of reasons; shame, fear, time, cultural values. You may seek help from non professionals only to delay finding an appropriate solution and emotional relief for you. In my twenty eight years of combined education and experience in the field, I can help.

I live my life as a survivor of multiple types of cancer and immune deficiencies, seeing each day as an opportunity to attend to my health (gym, spiritual practice and healthy nutritional habits) then to share that health with my clients, spouse and family.
"Life is Difficult." - M. Scott Peck My intention as a psychotherapist is to create a safe space for my clients to heal and grow. To accomplish this, I utilize a number of modalities including talk therapy, energy psychology, cognitive behavioral (CBT) and rational emotive therapy. I believe that each client deserves a relationship with their therapist that is safe, authentic and genuinely unique to their situation(s) which fosters growth and challenges ineffective beliefs. To that end, we work as a team or partnership!

I have a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
My approach to counseling is based on the integration of my professional psychological training and personal experience. I personally have overcome abuse and addictions in my own life. I believe we were created to live in healthy relationships and I love working with people to help them live closer to who they were designed to be. I believe that if we are able to experience healing within ourselves, we can live in relationship with others more freely and authentically.

My intention is to provide treatment, that identifies the problem and then quickly apply strategies that will bring success to the individual or family .
There are times in all of our lives when we experience challenging emotional situations. When these situations arrive we can benefit from the support of a person outside of our inner circle. Whether you are struggling with an crisis or change in your life, or even if you are just feeling mildly upset, it can take a toll on your life. Everyone can benefit from psychotherapy. No problem is too minor, severe, or unusual to be explored and healed. I approach my clients with care so that together we can built a plan that will help them achieve their goals.

Feeling trapped in a repetitive cycle? Maybe it's time to make a change. Relationships can grow stale to the point of living as roommates. Families can fall apart over unresolved conflict. Personal obstacles might be holding you back from reaching your full potential. How would each day differ if you overcame your own struggles, mended broken family relationships, or brought your marriage back from the brink to full restoration? Isn’t it worth trying for?

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
