As a Christian counselor, I believe a person's problems and concerns can encompass their physical, mental, and spiritual health. My goal is to provide therapy that addresses a client's deeper issues and wounds not just their symptoms. I consider it important to provide a safe and supportive therapeutic environment to promote development, healing and growth. I work with depression, anxiety, PTSD & trauma recovery, marriage/pre-marital therapy and parent education. If life feels overwhelming, stressful or lonely, I would consider it a privilege to set up a consultation to offer hope and courage for your current situation.

Life can be rough and sometimes our coping mechanisms used in the past just do not seem to be working. Most people find that having a professional, outside of family and friends, can be tremendously helpful in order to move forward. Whether you are struggling with troublesome behaviors, thoughts and/or emotions, participating in therapy can be beneficial. I work to create a safe space for you to explore and work towards creating the life you want.

I would love to support you as you heal from your grief and loss. Grief doesn't just mean that you're sad, it can bring up emotions of anger, confusion, and feeling like you've lost your sense of balance and safety in the world. I can help you process these emotions in a safe place. I can help you process your grief over the loss of a loved one, a job, a pregnancy, a relationship, or the loss of what the future was supposed to look like.

Stuck and tired of what seems like the same cycles keeping you from where you want to be. In spite of it all, you have done life the best way you know how, but you've gotten to the point where you know you need to talk with someone who may have some keys to the answers you've been searching for. You're ready for change, tools, understanding, growth, peace of mind and even some healing, even though you may not know what that process might look like yet. You're ready to experience "Different", whether that is in your mind, heart, relationships or career.

Not accepting new clients
Accepting new clients for telehealth only through our secure HIPPA compliant platform. Everyone goes through different phases throughout their life where they feel like a completely different person and want help to manage these feelings and thoughts. Instead of viewing these changes as becoming a completely different person, I want you to be able to transform, adapt and grow into someone who you want to become. Just like the phoenix, it undergoes a process of transformation and renewal into something it has always wanted to be on the inside. Just like the life cycle of a rose, each phase it goes through, it shows a purpose.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
