My passion is in working with children and adolescents above the age of 5 and their families. I enjoy supporting youth struggling with anxiety, depression, identity, peer relationships, self-esteem, and social and family issues. I am skilled at connecting with children and adolescents through their individual interests and quickly build strong therapeutic relationships. I believe that the therapeutic experience is a truly magical adventure and love utilizing different methods related to play and expressive arts.

For 26 years I have helped adults, college students, teens, and children to quickly discover or rediscover joy and peace in life. I specialize in relationship issues, stress, anger management, anxiety, and loss. With children/teens, I help with ADHD, impulse control, and behavioral conflict at school and home. Dr. Nikita Tate-Casanova is an LMFT practicing for over 10 years. She uses several therapeutic techniques dependent upon clients’ needs, including CBT, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Positive Psychology. She has experience working with individuals, couples, and families across the life span. Nikita has worked in private practice, church settings, inpatient acute/residential treatment programs, intensive outpatient programs, and partial hospitalization programs. She believes in holistic wellness that focuses on clients’ mental health improvement, somatic relief, spiritual connectivity, and positive self-image.

I earned my Masters of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin. I specialized in infant, child and adolescent mental health as well as clinical assessment. I have worked in many areas with varying populations such as: the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Evaluation Services at Fort Hood, Scott and White Hospital, Dialysis Clinics, and Veteran's Administration Hospital.
