I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and work with individuals, couples, families, and children. I specialize in working with those with anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, and people who want better communication and peace in their lives. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor and provide services to children, adults and families. I recently completed a Doctorate in Community Care and Counseling specializing in Marriage and Family therapy and address behavioral issues including anxiety, depression, trauma & abuse, stress management, grief & bereavement, and behavioral issues. I have received training in Gottman Relational Counseling Level I &II and Emotion- Focused Therapy; EMDR to help those with unresolved trauma and CBT; and also Play and Sandplay therapy. I like to have a lot of fun with my clients and their families and enjoy what I do!

My ideal client is an individual who is open to working as a team and benefiting from a therapeutic relationship in which honesty, accountability, and empathy are paramount. While a client’s concerns are unique and personal, there is nothing they cannot overcome through effective therapeutic interventions and a highly-trained and relatable clinician.

My ideal client would be anyone struggling with a mental health disorder. I enjoy working with people who struggle with depression and/or anxiety. Ideally, their goals would be to improve their overall functioning and quality of life. My ideal client would be able to put in the necessary work to accomplish their goals. My therapy style is authentic, empathetic, and validating. I believe in incorporating various treatment modalities that are based on the individual needs of my clients.

In my most recent job, I have found that domestic violence survivors and women who experience issues specific to being a woman have piqued my interest. As a therapist, the most rewarding thing is to guide women toward embracing themselves for who they are, heal past wounds, and empower them to live fully and authentically. I believe I have been given a purpose in this world to serve others, and that's what I was created to do.

My ideal client is motivated to roll up their sleeves and engage in the therapeutic process. They are able to hold an open mind and practice effective coping skills to improve their overall functioning and quality of life. They can challenge themselves to be vulnerable and practice accountability while processing their problematic thinking patterns and behaviors in a safe and non-judgmental environment. They wish to engage in therapy because they realize that they need to make a change and are willing to take a leap of faith to make it happen.

I enjoy working with clients who may be struggling with issues such as depression, anxiety, emotional management, poor self-esteem, experiencing grief and loss; who are motivated and open to change and doing homework, and who desire to be a healthier version of themselves.

LaVesea is passionate about youth; youth who have difficulties with parents and/or family dynamics, anxiety and depression who look forward and are ready to navigate healing. LaVesea works with BIPOC clients who continue to navigate systemic oppression and are prepared to work through how it has effect relationships with others as well as how they view the world. She is also passionate about working with assisting BIPOC navigate and work through depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self- harm.

I assist clients who struggle with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression and want to bring about change in their lives. I help clients who want to find a balance and stability within themselves to learn and reconnect to a more desired life.
