My treatment interests include: trauma resolution, depression, anxiety, ADHD, life transitions, parenting difficulties, self-esteem issues, stress management and managing complex family issues.
I believe in providing a safe, compassionate and nonjudgemental environment that allows clients to use their own strengths and insights to create positive and meaningful growth in their lives. Everyone has the ability to change painful experiences into resilience. Sometimes, we just need a helping hand to grab onto for guidance and support along the way.

We blend evidence-based & trauma informed psychotherapy, internal family system (parts), Brainspotting, clinical & spiritual hypnotherapy, reiki & chakra energy, yoga, shamanic journeying & soul retrieval, past life regression, career & life purpose, equine therapy, creative art, somatic, chiropractic, massage, empowered birth services, events, & ceremonies.
Healing is a circular and cyclical journey with many paths, choices, & discoveries. We meet you where you are today, acknowledge that you are ever-changing, ever evolving. We know how hard it is to ask for help…to embrace, hold, and make space for change…we know how challenging it is to have a dissolution of self, or a version of yourself that no longer fits. Together, we can uncover & compost outdated & stifling beliefs, unrealistic expectations or goals, let go of worries & fears, discover self-sabotage, burrow through behaviors & deeply hidden feelings & emotions that keep us stuck, fearful, unable to step into empowered selves.

I specialize in depression, anxiety, mood disorders, infertility/prenatal/postpartum, interpersonal dynamics, trauma, LGBTQ issues, codependency, communication, and parenting/family issues.
Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, sad, frustrated and uncertain are common human experiences that can leave you disconnected from your best self. I help my clients bridge the gap between where they are and where they want to be by understanding their priorities through a collaborative identification of barriers, fears, and hopes. We design a treatment plan to develop insight about how internal thoughts and belief systems evolve from unique life experiences and influence current interactions and behaviors. Effective strategies to cope with limitations are then built upon a foundation of self-awareness.

I use a variety of therapeutic techniques such as: Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy and Family Systems Therapy.
I have served hundreds of families over the years and have developed a specialty working with children (four and up), adolescents and young adults. I believe these are important formative years in a person's life and sometimes there are bumps along the way. I specialize in working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm, school-refusal, grief and loss, sexual abuse, behavioral issues, dealing with divorce, and much more. I understand that each individual is different and thus treatment needs to be tailored to each person's needs and wants. I also enjoy working with a variety of adults and young couples.

I feel that this life experience has afforded me the unique understanding of how to incorporate new skills and sense of self without losing one's sense of culture, family and values.
Hellen Keller wrote: "Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it." My role as a therapist is to assist my clients in identifying the source of their suffering and build on personal strengths so that joy can once again be experienced. I believe that creating a respectful, honest and open relationship in which one can self-reflect and identify these strengths is the foundation of effective therapy. Through my experiences with diverse populations, I have also grown to appreciate how a mixture of sense of humor, common sense, compassion and competence can facilitate personal growth

The program at this Symetria clinic goes beyond traditional therapy to treat everything hiding behind the drugs or alcohol - all while still living at home! Treatment here helps you rebalance your brain, create healthy thought patterns and heal underlying issues (like trauma, anxiety, depression or family conflict).
Don't settle for a generic drug and alcohol therapist. You deserve help that actually helps you feel happy again. (And, that's in-network with your insurance).

I specialize in adult/teen depression, anxiety, ADHD and relationship/family issues. Response time 24 business hours to calls or emails. My first priority is to understand you as a person. If you are feeling hesitant about therapy, understand that this is normal: letting another person into your private space can be frightening. A good therapist, however, will accept you as you are, with all the good and the ugly. Courage!

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
