I am an experienced, dedicated, and dynamic social worker, psychotherapist, life coach, and educator with over thirty years of clinical experience. I graduated from the University of Rochester with a Master of Science in Community Health & Services and later graduated from Syracuse University with my Master of Social Work degree. My areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, family of origin and relationship issues, grief and loss, stress management, anxiety, and depression.

I earned my Master of Social Work from Columbia University and have five years of experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds in various social service and mental health settings. As a bilingual (Mandarin) Licensed Master Social Worker, I aim to create a nonjudgmental and culturally sensitive space and develop an authentic therapeutic relationship to help you embrace your individuality and impermanence.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Potsdam and my Master of Social Work from Stony Brook University. I integrate strength-based and holistic approaches in my practice, including person-centered therapy, humanistic therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, supportive therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness. I dedicate time to exploring and identifying your unique needs, tailoring my approach to meet your individual requirements. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire, earning my Master of Social Work degree, and have been a psychotherapist for the past 7 years. I am currently working towards a PhD in Developmental Psychology. My choice to specialize in grief came at a young age after a personal experience. I lost a classmate in high school that had a profound impact on me, enough to help me decide that that mental health was the career path I wanted to take. This and my passion to help people eventually brought me to where I am today.

I received my Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University and my Violence Against Women and Children certification from Rutgers University. I deeply care about helping clients who have experienced traumatic events. Before choosing a career in Social Work, I obtained a degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Lorell Berrios is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who obtained her Master’s in Social Work from New York University. She has significant experience working with individuals of different age groups providing individual, family, and couple’s therapy. Lorell has diverse experience treating symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and mood disorders. Her therapeutic approaches used are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

I encourage self-awareness, understanding, and acceptance of emotions while teaching you how to regulate them. I help you manage distress tolerance, learn effective communication, and how to create and maintain healthy boundaries. I believe that self-acceptance and self-love are key to a healthy self-esteem and a meaningful life. I combine psychotherapy with life skills, teaching you how to transition from maladaptive coping to effective coping skills.

I received my Master of Social Work from the New York University Silver School of Social Work. While at NYU, I completed my clinical internships at IVDU Boys’ School, a high school for Orthodox Jewish young men with developmental disabilities, and Bleuler Psychotherapy Center, an outpatient mental health clinic for children, adolescents, and adults.

I graduated from Lehman College before earning my Master of Social Work from the Graduate School of Social Service at Fordham University.

I received my Undergraduate Degree in Psychology from SUNY Oswego in 2017 and obtained my Master’s in Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College in 2020. Throughout my graduate studies, I completed internships at New York Presbyterian—Westchester Behavioral Health Center and Hudson Valley Mental Health, gaining experience in inpatient and outpatient settings.
