Taking the initial step towards mental health self-care & counseling is a courageous act. We sometimes neglect our emotional & mental well-being, which happens to be the foundation of our physical self. With over six years of experience in narrative psychology and a client-centered approach, my initial goal is to make you comfortable to share your story from the minute you step into my office.

Sometimes we cycle through disappointments in our social, family, love, and work life. However, these specific matters should not affect other aspects of your long and wonderful life! Together, we will walk through those difficult matters and I will organize the goals you identify, so you can achieve what had seemed so difficult to attain before. Through social work and therapeutic goal planning, you will regain the happiness and fulfillment that is born in each of us! If you are Spanish speaking; I can also provide therapy in your language. Over my years of clinical practice I have worked with clients suffering from Anxiety, Depression, Eating Disorders, ADHD, interpersonal, family and job and school related difficulties. Ideally, clients benefit most when we explore the issues to be worked on and when the client is flexible in allowing me to tailor treatment modalities to specific needs. At times we engage in psychodynamic psychotherapy and at times we implement cognitive behavioral interventions to make positive changes in the client's perspective, behaviors and relationships.

“ Anxiety, uncertainty, comparison, failure, depression and vulnerability” - most of us spend our lives avoiding these words. Then one day, we are depressed - not understanding how we got there. We become too small because we think that we don’t have control over these thoughts and how they derail our daily lives. The good news is that there is a way to free ourselves from the fear, grief, despair, and anxiety. Yes, we struggle throughout our lives, but we can build the courage to face our vulnerabilities. Let’s find a way together to be free - I can walk with you and help you become the person you’ve wanted to be for a long time

I believe therapy should be a safe, non-bias, judge free space where you can be seen and heard regardless of what you are going through. In our sessions together, we can challenge and explore where we currently are in life, and how to manage, cope and overcome obstacles with full transparency. With experience working with LGBTQ+, BIPOC, polyamorous, and sex positive, community dealing with various mental health issues and life stressors, together we can set goals and build our toolbox to get to our ideal, higher, authentic self.

Life is a maze with many twists and turns. Your choices and actions will determine the next steps in life depending on which path you decide to take. In order to find a deeper meaning to understand who you are, what you want or how to build healthy relationships, it is important to have a therapist that is empathetic and understanding. A therapist who will meet you at your starting point and guide you towards fulfilling your journey. We can be our biggest critic but understanding your core values, needs, wants, and goals will help bring out the best version of YOU!

It's so hard putting out a perfect image especially when you stress yourself all of the time. It looks like you have it all together. You went to college, excel at work, and have friends. But you feel so alone. Inside you are battling with some hard shit but they don't notice. You are the one that they come to for help and it's so easy helping them sort through their lives and giving advice. You are so tired of helping others and wish that someone would just notice you. But you keep being the rock because there is a little tiny voice that fears the phone calls would stop. After all, will they be there if they know the real you?

Feeling stuck? Life stress can make you feel down, anxious, angry, defeated, hopeless and helpless. Life stressors and the accompanying emotions can keep you up at night, cause a loss of appetite, and irritability. Ideally, you want to “get over it,” but for some reason, it has been getting worse and affecting you, your relationships with family and friends, and even at work. Then you find yourself wondering, “What’s wrong with me?”

Hi! Two things about me, I am first generation Latina therapist from New York City and prioritize making therapy accessible. New York has an incredible skill of making us feel isolated. I am also a certified clinical trauma professional, with that I think it is important to note that trauma can be insidious in disconnecting of who we are and where we want to be. Combining who I am as a New Yorker along with being a Mental Health Clinician my goal is to support you in building connection, not just with me, or those around you but most importantly back to you. Together we can get back into the driver seat of life's challenges.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the United States, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
