My lens in psychotherapy is informed by the principle of organicity; that every person has within them tremendous wisdom and the ability to heal. I view psychotherapy as a journey to assist the client in clearing the boundaries to their own unique healing path. I work with many different evidence based modalities including IFS, EMDR, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy which provide many different lenses and approaches to working with a variety of presenting problems. My primary focus is on Trauma, both upper case "T" and lower case "t" as well as addictions- with males from 12 to adulthood. Looking forward to crossing paths soon!

With a relational lens, I use a combination of modalities to treat each client in the way that suits them best; primarily Somatic Experiencing (SE)/Somatic Interventions, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, EMDR, PIT (Healing core issues from childhood trauma and neglect), and IFS.
I believe in everyone’s ability to heal and grow. With genuine care, authenticity, and deep respect, I accompany clients on their journey. We will explore the route of your struggles and uncover any blocks or adaptations that don't serve you today, which will allow you to experience and share more of your true SELF. I provide a safe, supportive environment to do deep work, grieve losses, heal traumas, anxieties, and depression, and develop a more secure relationship with yourself, others and the world. Together we will discover and hone your inner strengths, your ability to be present, and help you make the changes you desire!

My training includes psychodynamic psychotherapy, child therapy, EMDR (an effective technique for dealing with trauma), hypnosis, mindfulness, stress reduction, and play and art therapy techniques.
I provide a safe, welcoming place to bring your thoughts and feelings, inner conflicts and concerns and your hopes for change. We will work together to understand patterns that no longer serve you and may be contributing to emotional pain. Whether you have issues around intimacy, relationships, parenting, work dissatisfaction, overcoming creative blocks or overwhelming feelings that keep you from creating a richer, more purposeful life, therapy can be life changing. For children, play therapy in addition to talk can help get to the root of difficult behavior in conflicts with peers, at school and with family.

In my sessions I listen carefully and without judgment to your concerns and work with you to find a way to address them. My approach is warm, attentive, collaborative and hopeful.

I am an EMDR therapist with specialized trainings in Internal Family Systems/parts work, psychedelic integration and intergenerational trauma.
I specialize in working with adults with overwhelmed nervous systems, which includes all of us facing climate catastrophe and rising fascism. I use a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive framework that sees mental health not as an individual problem, but one rooted in systemic and structural problems. I use historical and material conditions as a context to understand ways systems of oppression are replicated in therapy despite intent, including ways adaptive responses to a hostile social environment are labeled “disordered.”

I help people use mind-body work to end chronic pain and live lives of freedom. I know - you’ve been in pain for years. I know - it feels like your body's broken. You’ve tried everything. You’ve tried all the doctors. You’ve seen the alternative practitioners. You’ve dedicated so much time. You’ve spent so much money. You’ve gotten your hopes up again and again. The cures, the protocols, the diets, the stuff that works for everyone else, it hasn’t worked for you. You’ve gone past the point of desperation and now you’ve finally found your way to the real cure: mind-body medicine. On some level, you know this is the answer.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
