I have a diverse background working with individuals, families, groups, and also in the community, in settings such as schools, inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment facilities, and in homes, to create the space for individuals to grow.

My aim while working with clients is to empower them to feel safe approaching therapy as an outlet to discover, grow and utilize tools to work through challenges. As clients embark on working in treatment my goal is that they will have a better understanding - through empathy, compassion and mindfulness.

Despite having reached the pinnacle of my profession after nearly two decades of practice, it was my own struggle with learning disabilities, dual diagnosis and other medical conditions and issues, that changed my perspective and my life. I came to appreciate an approach which focuses on the here and now; solution focused and goal oriented. I found little solace in traditional therapeutic approaches which focused largely on the past, and went on for months with no real relief nor positive impact on my life or functioning. As such, I strive to help my clients achieve their goals and actualize their dreams using a coaching approach.

I am an experienced licensced clinical therapist providing counseling services to adults, adolescents & children. I will help give you the skills to improve your life and facilitate positive and effective changes. We will work together to understand and work through the issues. My work experience consists of providing individual, family & group therapy at Somerset Medical Center Outpatient Program (dual diagnosis) helping adults manage their illness. Also, was employed at Princeton Behavioral Health working with Trauma Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT & Process). I am currently seeing clients both in person and virtual.

Being a bicultural individual, I am able to see things from two different perspectives, which helps me remain open and adaptable to various personal values and ways of life. I pride myself on my ability to create a space where you would feel comfortable and understood to express your concerns and emotions freely.

I believe that Balance is an important components of life. Not unlike the human body, our mind strives for equilibrium, also known as Balance. I also believe that when one works to seek and achieve Clarity, he or she will find peace and comfort. I interpret Clarity as the continual state of obtaining information and knowledge, communicating, as well as validating information and feelings received from people around us. I believe that Mindfulness is the key to maintaining continued balance and clarity in life. I interpret mindfulness as being in the "now"; being in the present moment and being available.

Judy's background includes working with young adults and adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders at inpatient and outpatient levels of care, as well as working with those experiencing relationship issues, work-related stress, anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, and post-traumatic stress. She specializes in working with young adults and adults with addictions, as well as anxiety, depression, relationship-, work-, and family- related stress, mood disorders, trauma, and adjustment difficulties. Judy’s approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Solution-focused (SF), and Narrative (NT) therapies.

Finally, he is a certified EMDR therapist. For nearly 30 years he has provided psychotherapy services to professionals in various industries.
