Life can be challenging for all of us. Careers, families, relationships, our health; all can provide joy but can also be sources of great stress and difficulty. As a licensed clinical psychologist, I will work with you to overcome the obstacles that prevent you from living the life you seek. These may include low self esteem, anxiety, lack of satisfaction in your professional life or marriage, depression, to name just a few. The relationship you and I forge will help guide you to improve your life, whether your needs be interpersonal, career related, parenting, or unresolved issues from the past.

The foundation of my work with you rests in the belief that human connection based on insight and empathy is transformational. Often times suffering is a result of habitual patterns and behaviors based on fear, and difficult experiences. This drains our natural ability to enjoy life, and unfortunately cultivates a culture of isolation and aloneness. Our honest and trusting therapeutic relationship will transmute your aloneness so that you once again have access to your innate resiliency and wonder of life. I'm inspired by engaging people to create meaning and purpose in their lives. I believe that it only takes one person to change the trajectory of our lives in an impactful way. My approach is to foster agency, trust, and commitment to take the small steps necessary to showing up in your life in a way that is more aligned with your own core values and ideals. I have worked in various treatment settings ranging from inpatient psych, residential, and outpatient with teens and adults. Prior to becoming a therapist I was a professional athlete and understand the difficulties in balancing performance and personal development.

You’re overthinking things, second-guessing yourself all the time, worried you’re not keeping up with your friends/peers. You want to be your best self, but not sure exactly what that is or how to get there. You’re afraid to do the wrong things at times and do nothing as a result. When you and your partner talk about your relationship you mean well, but say the wrong things or it comes out the wrong way. Falling short on friendships, dating and your career and you’re not sure why. You need clarity and a way to move forward, but turning to friends or family doesn’t feel like the way to go.

Family Matters Of Marin is a trauma informed group practice focused on supporting children and families. We help clients create more joy, love, and harmony in their lives. We are deeply interested in learning how our clients would like to change and grow, and supporting them in this process. We work collaboratively with clients to improve their relationships and resolve any trauma from their past that maybe holding them back from living the life they yearn for. I pivoted to my career as a therapist 16 years after earning a B.A. in Economics at University of Chicago. I earned my LCSW at Smith College. I'm a mother of two and a first-generation child of immigrants. In my practice I want you to make the most of your time with me. I work with a range of clients, from executives to college students. My office is tucked into hills and trees. Clients are from my town, Mill Valley, Sausalito, Kentfield, Tiburon, San Francisco and the South Bay. I Zoom too.

I provide psychotherapy to clients ranging from young children to older adults with a wide range of issues. At some point, in most of our lives, we experience difficulty, turmoil, and/or pain in some aspect(s) of our lives; emotionally, psychologically, in relationships, or coping. I do my best to connect with and understand the people I work with on many levels. Together we identify and explore the patterns of adaptation which are no longer effective and contribute to pain and suffering. Over the many years in this profession, I have been humbled. Real change, however defined, often takes time, attention and care.

I offer an "Integrated Approach to Psychotherapy" for adults, couples and families. We may first seek to reduce negative symptoms and increase stability in our life, but eventually I support and challenge my clients to graduate from "surviving to truly "thriving" in all major aspects of their life. Relationships have shaped and influenced who we are and many clients appreciate help with essential relationship skills. I am one of the few therapists in Marin and SF actually certified as an Imago Relationship Therapist and have had the honor to assist the cofounders many times with their weekend workshops. on the West Coast.
