Our practice offers Equine-Assisted Psychoherapy with a licensed therapist and trained horse handler team. We specialize in treating sexual trauma, PTSD, and issues related to adoption or foster care. We work with children ages 4+, adults, and veterans. Together we will customize your therapy to fit your needs. I have been trained specifically to work with people in need of this very personal help. I will support you through your journey using a gentle path process. I am Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) trained and a member of the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals. I am also trained in behavioral sciences and early childhood developmental education.

My Motivation for this work is to help serve and support underserved populations, specifically the Latinx population. I know the importance of finding a therapist who understands your cultural experience. Having that cultural connection provides an unspoken understanding within the counseling relationship which helps create better rapport and comfort to be able to open up on your mental health or relational concerns. After all, one of our most basic needs is the need for belonging. I want to make sure that my clients not only feel they belong in my office, but in our community.

All people need to learn tangible emotional skills and tools to create the healthy, conscious life and relationships they truly desire. As humans, we all have emotional issues. Issues are never the problem. The problem is that we, commonly, have not been taught the very skills that allow us to identify and, most importantly, deal successfully with our own set of issues. My name is Jacqueline Miller and I have 10+ years of experience working with diverse populations. Having worked as a crisis clinician and in a psychiatric hospital, I specialize in working with men, women and teens who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, suicide ideation, or are struggling with life transitions. I have also provided animal assisted equestrian therapy as well as outpatient therapy. I use talk psychotherapy, CBT, mindfulness and DBT skills to assist people in living their best life. I meet clients where they are and individualize our work together based on what benefits them the most. LGBTQIA friendly.

My ideal client is a teen, adult or couple who is self aware, motivated, and is either curious or committed to doing the work necessary to start their healing journey. They may be someone who has learned a behavior to cope with trauma, like substance use or an eating disorder for example, and are discovering that tool is no longer serving them. Perhaps they notice the way they have been living is in alignment with someone else's values rather than their own. My goal as a therapist is to bring to their attention ideas and feedback that provides a new perspective that guides my clients to a more empowered way of life.
