I specialize in children, teenagers, and young adults with anxiety and depression, especially with estrangement issues such as conflict with parents, divorced and/or deployed parents, as well as career planning. I have experience treating those with mild symptoms who need a sounding board to those with severe suicidal ideation and self-harm who need a comprehensive treatment plan integrated with multiple providers. I am a Christian and can offer help from a biblical perspective if desired.

Self esteem, confidence, identifying and neutralizing triggers, healing from trauma, addiction, weight, focus, and pro active behaviors are my areas of specialty. I am a holistic practitioner and specialize in drug free treatment modalities such as EMDR, hypnosis (guided meditation/affirmation), and energy psychology (eft tapping) that allow you to peel away behaviors that get between you and your best expression of yourself. I am especially attuned to young and mature adults in helping to meet their needs.

Distressing symptoms in the present often are from situations in the past which when addressed people report feeling free in the present to become their authentic selves and accomplish their goals. I wanted to become better prepared and so studied beyond basic EMDR training to become a Certified EMDR Therapist with the International Association (EMDRIA). Primarily I work with veterans, adults, young adults and seniors that struggle with past unresolved trauma or distress, PTSD, over reactions, anger, depression, anxiety and fear, impulsivity, low self esteem and confidence, emotional mood swings, as well as aging issues.

I want to help people who want to help themselves to have a more joyful and hopeful life. My focus is on your strengths, as I believe if we focus on our strengths, it is easier to overcome our challenges. As a counselor and a former school counselor and teacher, I have worked with adults, teens and children from all walks of life, including military and their families. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that has been in practice since 2005. I work primarily with individuals and families; age 12 and above.
