I am an experienced business professional that entered the field of marriage and family therapy to help others. I have been inspired to change careers to this path as my own life experience taught me about the importance of caring for my mental health to live my best life. As an African American, Queer woman I have worked through the struggles associated with identity, social pressure, the expectations of others, and the importance of building a family of choice.

As an Associate Clinical Professor at Yale Department of psychiatry, I have been practicing psychotherapy for over 20 years. My therapeutic approach is to help individuals and couples better understand the conflicts in their life and find healthy ways to resolve or cope with them tapping into their strengths and their social support. In addition to my private practice, I have been working at the Department of Veterans Affairs for many years as a supervisory psychologist and I have published extensively in the field. I have also supervised and trained psychologists and psychiatrists in psychotherapy both in the US and abroad.

We provide clinical services for young adults and adults (18-75) struggling with mood stability, addiction, PTSD, unhealthy anger management, grief and relationship problems, responsible for disrupting personal, social and family lives. Personal interventions assist in developing the skills necessary to address presenting problems and establish a healthy lifestyle.
