My goal is to create a genuine connection with you, and together we can use this therapeutic relationship as our foundation for seeking change, exploration and growth. I first and foremost work with a compassionate and empathetic approach, relying on our relationship to guide our sessions. I have also found success using a combination of cognitive-behavioral and emotion-focused techniques to understand what messages our bodies are attempting to communicate with us. Giving our emotions their own voice and allowing them to have the space for acceptance helps lead the way in understanding ourselves more deeply.

Being a woman or girl today has gotten increasingly complex! You were raised to believe what you were told. Your parents told you one thing. Your friends another. Throw in societal expectations and the media..? And now you want something more fulfilling. More fun. More…you! You’re afraid of being labeled. The people you date are the ones you are “supposed to,” not who you want. Maybe sex has been painful or unfulfilling and you want to understand why. Your sexual self is yours alone. But how do you sort your truth from everyone else’s? You want something different, but you are not sure how to talk about it.

Life is a series of panoramic photographs; when our images are torn, we attempt to tape them back together; sometimes, we fixate on the torn images. Let’s step back for a moment—have you ever retaken a photo and thought, “Wait, this one looks better than the last photo”? What if that was possible for our lives, too? The key is repositioning ourselves and examining our camera's point of view. I dare you to be the photographer of your life; I want to see your photo album. Please do not edit your photographs to make yourself look more appealing; to me, you are already enough. I like you just the way you are.

If you are suffering from medication resistant depression, anxiety, OCD, or PTSD, a combination of talk therapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) may be the answer for you. For many people, antidepressants do not fully relieve the symptoms or cause too many side effects, and it can become very difficult going through multiple medications that do not seem to work. After failed medication attempts, you are eligible to be treated with TMS and therapy together. Call our Specialists to learn more about your options.

Existential Therapists

How does existential therapy work?

Existential therapy focuses on a patient’s inner experiences. The therapist tries to help the individual comprehend and alleviate symptoms by exploring their interior life. By confronting negative disquiet and emotions, the individual will hopefully become more open to finding meaning and purpose. This therapy can be administered to individuals or groups.

Is existential therapy evidence-based?

Existential therapy is an evidence-based practice. Research has determined that existential therapy can lead to significant improvement in the mental health of patients, and for some people it can be just as effective as cognitive behavioral therapy. The benefits of existential therapy are enduring, even long after treatment has ended.

How long does existential therapy last?

The goal of existential therapy is to understand a person’s internal experiences, which may sound like a lengthy process, but it does not have to be so in-depth. However, sessions are not short-term, and therapy can continue for months or up to a year. And because patients learn the theory behind existential therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have been completed.

Is existential therapy effective?

According to research, many patients find success with existential therapy. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving feelings of isolation, feelings of purposelessness, as well as conditions such as anxiety and depression. Improvements in problem areas can persist even after the end of existential therapy, as individuals can continue working on themselves by using the tools they’ve developed during treatment.
