In my practice, I work with couples, individuals, and families utilizing methods from Emotionally Focused Therapy. This scientifically proven approach, developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, helps people understand and improve their emotional connection with themselves and others. Couples learn how to reconnect through listening, validation, and empathy. The EFT process, backed by research, enables couples, families, and individuals to create secure attachments, leading to improvements in depression and anxiety. I offer faith-based counseling in my practice according to my client's preferences.
I use an integrative approach from my training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and from the Gottman Method of therapy, developed by Dr. John and Julie Gottman based on 40 yrs. of research. I have found that couples benefit significantly from these two methods of therapy. I also integrate spirituality in my sessions according to my client's preferences.
Many couples do not understand that the distance they feel in their relationship is a result of being emotionally disconnected. With life transitions, raising children, and work-related responsibilities, it is easy to become disconnected. EFT is restorative and can help you heal and build a stronger and more secure emotional bond.
