So you’re unrecognizable! Don't worry you won't stay here long.
You desperately want to feel like yourself, but it feels like it’s beyond reach. The stressors you face in the workplace, socially, and even in your family has affected your mood drastically that you don’t even recognize yourself. The hopelessness and worry you feel around failing others and at work causes you to perform and not just be. Hiding your true feelings has become a prison you find yourself trapped in. It does not leave any room for you to voice your needs and allow your vulnerabilities to be seen and acknowledged. The worse part is you don’t even know how you got here. All you know is somethings got to change and soon.

Book with me now by clicking on my website. Most of my clients are young professionals or college and high school students who want to do in-depth, transformative therapy. I enjoy helping people who wish to heal from past trauma or loss, depression, anxiety, or substance abuse. I believe therapy serves as a way of liberating ourselves from problems and wounds of the past so that we can go out into the world to relate and live in newer, more meaningful, ways.

Being a parent is truly a role like no other – it’s rewarding, overwhelming, fulfilling, exhausting, and so very special. There can be so much to learn and unlearn as you try your best to show up in the ways you want to with your children. Whether you’re wanting assistance with new or confusing behaviors, having difficulty setting limits or responding to meltdowns, struggling with being the parent you know you can be in tough moments, or are trying to disentangle from the way you were raised, we can take these situations step by step together.

I believe that everyone deserves a chance at happiness and healing and if I can be of any help in that process, directly or indirectly, I want to be. Over the years I have been in awe of the courage of my clients and their willingness to fight for their healing and happiness. The past cannot be changed, but our relationship to it can. My goal is to assist in allowing your past to be part of your story & not let the past dictate your future so you can live in the present

As humans, we are frequently challenged with the need to adjust-- to unforeseen changes and transitions, to loss, to injury and illness, or to the pressures of everyday life. And sometimes adjustment is needed in relation to an event or process of our own choosing (divorce, elective surgery, spiritual quest). For individuals who wish to deepen their understanding of themselves and their circumstances, or for those struggling with specific challenges, my commitment is to come alongside and help you cope, gain insight, problem-solve, heal, and adjust such that life can be lived as fully and genuinely as possible.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
