I use an eclectic approach to individualize therapy based on your needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is incorporated into a Person Centered framework with Mindfulness Based techniques. I also have special training in Prolonged Grief Therapy.

My ideal client is someone who really wants to get sober and change their life. Their issues are addiction, alcoholism and dually diagnosed clients that have trauma, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, anxiety, depression that want full recovery. They want to gain freedom from active addiction and become rocketed into recovery. They want to have fun in life!

After a decade working as a front-line Emergency Medicine Physician I transitioned to Addiction Medicine seeking greater long-term impact on patients' lives. As Medical Director I have built Medical and Psychiatric Departments from the ground up. I have created tailored and evidence-based protocols for Prevention, Detoxification, Recovery, and Maintenance. I have overseen and led hiring, staff training, a transition to a skills-based Care Model, marked improvements in Retention and top-notch Patient Satisfaction Scores.

I consider myself to be a generalist who uses a psychodynamic approach to treat the underlying issues of a variety of presenting problems. I am frank, non-judgmental and caring, and I will provide you with psychological analysis and tools to assist you in gaining insight, expressing your feelings appropriately, improving the level of intimacy in your relationships, and becoming the best version of yourself. To this end, in addition to individual therapy, I also offer group therapy to increase social self-esteem, improve assertiveness, enhance the capacity for intimacy, and gain insight into how you are experienced by others.

One of the life lessons I have learned through my practice and life experiences is that we may know what the next right thing may be, but getting there oftentimes requires support, guidance, and self-trust. I truly believe we are all doing the very best we can with our present skill sets. Sometimes we may already have existing support systems and still may not know which path to choose. Other times we feel alone in moving forward and confused about if our choices are “right.” This is where I am hoping to help support you. I am a believer in the team effort.
