I specialize in working with goal-oriented adults who are struggling with addiction, ADHD, or anxiety and are ready to make meaningful changes to develop a stronger sense of confidence in managing their lives.
You’ve realized you’re drinking or getting high more than you planned to and more than you want to but don’t know how to stop. The shame is dragging you down and you’re too embarrassed to admit you have a "problem." People in your life are concerned and want to offer help but what they’re offering just isn’t what you think you need. You might be numbing how you feel about letting things get to this point and not being able to change. Maybe someone else thinks your behavior is a problem and as much as you’d rather just get them off your back, there’s a part of you that’s starting to agree and wondering what you can do about it.

When a person has a mental health concern, anxiety, depression, ADHD, or an experienced traumatic event, it often impacts the whole family.
“I don’t want to talk about it!” “You wouldn't understand!”...sound familiar? Sometimes your children don’t understand what may be happening either, and communicating that can feel impossible. As a Registered Play Therapist, I help children, teens, and adults ages 3-25 explore, understand, and gain confidence around who they are, how they feel, and what they think. I am a hearing therapist fluent in ASL and also specialize in working with deaf youth using play. Play therapy utilizes a variety of interventions, including playing with toys and miniatures or using more expressive art and movement.

My orientation is focused on seeing an individual within the context of their family, their work, their community. I will be a compassionate listener. But therapy requires more than compassionate listening. To have effective therapy is to be challenged in the way we think, feel, and live. My clinical style is to find solutions while staying rooted in compassion and understanding. I specialize in working with college-age individuals and young professionals.

Hi, I'm Rebecca. Many of my clients are women and nonbinary folks in their 20s and 30s who are exploring their neurodivergence (usually Autism and/or ADHD) as an adult. They may already have a neurodivergent identity or be in the process of figuring out their experiences. Together, we explore their unique strengths, learn how to meet sensory and self-care needs, and address challenges that arise from living in a neurotypical world. As a late-identified neurodivergent person, I have found that embracing our neurodivergence can lead us on a powerful journey of self-discovery, joy, and connection with ourselves and others.

I use strength-based approaches to help clients set and achieve goals and boost happiness. Having experience as a school-based therapist and as a parent, I am helpful as a parent coach/mentor/therapist and enjoy working with teens regarding school-related challenges.

Therapy is often difficult for neurodivergent folks because many therapists are not informed about autism, ADHD, AuDHD, PDA, sensory issues, etc.
I work with all children 12-17 and adults. I specialize in working with autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD children 12-17 and adults, both formally diagnosed and self-diagnosed. I am a neurodiversity-affirming therapist. For children and adults who are different, learning about their strengths and needs, what helps and how to communicate about it, is crucial. I can help with anxiety, low self-esteem, academic and executive functioning struggles, history of trauma, meltdowns, social challenges, and other common issues. I offer parent coaching and also work with parents whose neurodivergent children are adults.

I offer expertise working with those who struggle with depression, anxiety, LGBTQ+ and transgender issues, addiction, PTSD, and ADHD.
Sometimes overwhelming challenges or changes can feel as though they’ve taken over our lives. All too often, rather than seeking the compassionate care we deserve, we try to bear the weight of our circumstances alone, which can lead to compounding feelings of self-doubt, fear, and isolation. I draw from a broad range of therapies to help heal the parts of you that are in pain. My integrative approach draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). With these proven methodologies in my toolkit, I collaborate with you to make meaningful change.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
