My passion is working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. My goal is to foster a safe environment for all my clients to explore feelings and emotions that have been creating distress. With younger children, I understand that it may be harder to communicate their feelings with words and play therapy can be used to more effectively explore their thoughts. My hope is to create a therapeutic relationship to guide the client toward positive coping skills and start leading more enriching lives. I believe that each client has the ability and the capacity within themselves to become empowered and thrive.
I have an empathetic and open minded approach that uses different methods including humanistic and cognitive techniques to help the client understand their thought processes and how they are aligned or unaligned with their actions.My counseling technique is based on relational skill building as well as research based strategies.
I bring a current understanding of how the theories for therapy are connected to the research to ensure proven treatments for each need. I look forward to working with you and being a part of this journey.
