I am a Marriage, family, child therapist and have a PsyD in psychoanalysis. I have been in practice for almost 30+ years. Although I am well versed and trained in many techniques, including the short term behavioral oriented ones, my orientation always leads me to a psychodynamic lens. By this I mean that I will always use the context, both current and historical, including family of origin, to inform the work and deepen my understanding of anyone I embark on a path of working in partnership with toward the general goals of reducing pain, increasing joy and broadening one's life choices.

I help my clients work through challenging situations and develop a better self-understanding. I support my clients as they navigate through life transitions such as resolving decisions, adjusting to college, developing a career path, starting a family, aging, and the beginning and ending of relationships. Areas I specialize in include depression, anxiety, and assisting career-focused clients to obtain an appropriate work-life balance. I also treat individuals diagnosed with medical conditions.

I began my private practice with one purpose in mind: to treat clients with respect for the possibility of change in their lives. It is my belief that the best treatment includes the development of a trusting relationship. I am here to support you in creating a life of courage in which you can tackle the obstacles that have limited your potential. I treat both couples and individuals (18+) and tailor psychotherapy to meet the goals and needs of the patient. The therapeutic relationship is especially important and my goal is to provide a collaborative and interactive psychotherapy experience. I have almost 20 years experience treating people who experience depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder and symptoms of alcohol and drug abuse. I also have the experience and privilege of serving a culturally and ethnically diverse population, including the gay and lesbian community. We all struggle at times and our struggles are our own, do not compare what may feel catastrophic to you to what others are dealing with. I have been practicing for 12 years and revolve my practice around person-centered therapy; non-judgment, genuineness & positive regard. I will accept you for who you are and we will start where you are. My goal is to help you reach your goals. I find that humor, compassion, and authenticity allow my clients to feel comfortable and progress at the same time. Since 2010, I have provided intensive therapy at institutional, residential, and outpatient levels of care for adults and adolescents.

The belief that you are inadequate is a myth. I believe in looking for what is right with you. I am not the therapist who is going to merely sit back, listen and tell you what is wrong with you. I have a specialization working with couples, families and individuals; as well as substance abuse/chemical dependency and addiction treatment (porn, sex & gambling). In many cases the depressed and anxious client is self medicating in some way to alter underlying feelings of depression, anxiety and intimacy/attachment issues. I use Somatic Experiencing, a very effective treatment for trauma/PTSD symptoms, helping the body and mind regulate itself. Clients in relationships with loved ones addicted or abusing substances can benefit from therapy to learn how to take care of themselves so as to limit the toxicity of the proximity
