With nine years’ experience working in mental health, I know one size does not fit all and having a counselor that supports you, how you need, can make all the difference. With this, my approach is eclectic in using different methods, depending on what works best for you.

My hope is to be part of a movement to help normalize mental health as a regular part of self-care. My mission as a counselor is to help my clients address the root of the problem as well as gain tools to manage daily challenges. I love the famous saying “An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure.” I believe this fits in with my passion of helping my clients not only heal from current issues, but also providing them the skills to manage life in the future.

I enjoy working with individuals from adolescence all the way into late-life transitions. I believe that at any age or stage in life, we all have opportunities to make positive changes and increase our wellness. As a transgender and autistic man, it is important to me that my clients have a safe space in my office to be their most authentic self and may be met with unconditional positive regard throughout their therapeutic experience. I am an associate therapist at The Center for Compassion, where we provide mindful care for painful times. I am passionate about helping others navigate through grief, loss, trauma, and life’s many challenges. I have experience in several different social work settings; including schools, hospice, and grief support. These experiences have given me the skills to support those enduring many different life challenges.

Life can throw hardships at us, and our pain is so real and deep. My passion is to walk alongside clients through healing, gaining strength, and building resilience during tough times. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor experienced in working with individuals of all ages, providing care and support for those facing eating disorders, substance use, depression, anxiety, trauma, and more. I understand deciding to get help can be an extremely difficult decision. Having a safe space to go for support is at the top of my priority list as a human and therapist. Within my work in the eating disorder population, I am an anti-diet and Health at Every Size focused provider who is passionate in using a social justice lens to approach and explore body image, weight stigmatization, and more!

Many of the clients I have worked with have struggled with general mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and various other psychiatric problems, as well as addiction issues. A great deal of these problems stem from family or other relationship issues, or transitional issues such as loss of loved ones, loss of job, homelessness, and financial issues. Most recently in my career, I have worked with many elderly clients who have major medical issues, are dealing with end-of-life issues, or who find themselves alone, and needing a positive sounding board to listen to them and help improve their coping mechanisms.

My life experiences have led me to the helping profession where I maintain a strategy with meeting people where they are in their exploration to discover or restore their quality of life. My methods and technique are to assist you with navigating and resolving conflicts where you can enhance your abilities for a fresh perspective and a renewed outlook.
