As queer women, we often have more challenges to navigate than others and sometimes we need extra support. I can provide you with that support. I work with queer women who are struggling with feelings of stress, relationships concerns, dating, anxiety, parenting, marriage, depression, & frustration. I also help people struggling with ADHD and with grief/loss. I am a doctoral level psychologist & have graduated & trained in programs accredited by the American Psychological Association.

I am an easy-going person who uses a lot of humor in session. I have a big dog in my office most of the time, who is a trained and certified therapy dog. My ideal client is someone who is motivated to improve their life and is in it for the long haul. A lot of my clients are struggling to figure out who they are or why they're struggling so much and I encourage people to give themselves permission to not have it all figured out. I try my best to make therapy enjoyable but don't get me wrong; you will definitely grow in the process. As a relationship, sex, and gender therapist, I help couples, relationships, and individuals explore identities, navigate non-monogamy, and experience greater pleasure and intimacy. I am passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ folks in exploring and healing from the negative impacts of internalized homophobia, transphobia, and racism as they often manifest in shame, guilt, and low self-esteem.

I specialize in working with couples and individuals facing relationship transitions (divorce, coparenting, platonic partnership consideration, etc.), sexual or relational desire and orientation differences (including kink, non-monogamy, and sexual orientation, gender transitions, and more), sexual and religious trauma (for ex., "exvangelicals" and queer folks with oppression trauma), intimate partner violence trauma, healing from a breach of trust, coming out and gender exploration/transition (one or both partners), and more. I frequently work with LGBTQIA/queer couples and the parents of LGBTQIA+ youth. I do work with youth 14+.

Our live's might hold experiences that have caused us to feel pain, rejection, and grief. As a result, we might find ways to numb, shame ourselves, and repeat old patterns that no longer serve us. The truth is, you are a resilient human, you have gotten yourself this far, and it’s okay to reach out for help when you need it. Therapy is a powerful tool that can help you to reconnect with the different parts of yourself that have been injured, left behind, or forgotten.

My goal as a therapist is to help my clients enact meaningful change to improve the quality of their lives. I use a variety of modalities customized to your concerns and presenting problems so that therapy is not only effective but efficient as well. I believe it is ultimately my job to make myself obsolete and I am always happy when my clients feel they have integrated enough of therapy that they no longer "need" it.

My therapy approach is open and honest. I show up as both a human and psychologist, and do not emphasize a professional power hierarchy. I am an advocate for racial justice, LGBTQ+ equality and rights, and human rights more broadly. I am not value neutral on such topics. It is important for my clients to know that my full-time job is as an Assistant Professor of Practice at University of Denver’s Counseling Psychology Program where I teach and supervise students learning to be therapists. Therefore, my private practice is part-time and I have limited flexibility for scheduling.
