Mandi Merica is a licensed professional counselor and licensed addiction counselor who has been practicing since 2015. She graduated from Walden University with a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Mandi believes in helping her clients find balance in their lives by finding those strengths and hidden parts. Mandi often combines approaches to find a style that works for each client, blending mindfulness and person centered qualities with more skill focused interventions including CBT and DBT.

It's so important to have a safe space to work through all of the challenges that come with being a person. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, struggling with low self-esteem, learning to manage stress, or going through a difficult life transition, I will work collaboratively with you to develop healthy coping skills, healthy thought patterns, and a new sense of purpose. I believe I was called to assist those in need. My aim is to help those struggling with their mental health by incorporating psycho-education, promoting useful techniques and creating helpful tools that can best assist them in their day to day. Often therapy can be scary and intimidating, and my hope is to help you in your healing journey in whatever way that may be. I can help you with depression and anxiety and relationship difficulties. I work to help people move forward when they feel stuck in unhealthy patterns of feelings and behaviors. My belief is that we all have within us the capacity to flourish if the obstacles to doing that are identified and removed. I like to work with people who are committed to their healing and prepared to risk changing in order to thrive. I have experience helping clients heal from childhood trauma, from grief and loss of all kinds, from constant worry, and from persistent negative ideas about themselves. My approach is collaborative and interactive.

I strive to serve the community around me and advocate for those who are in need. I focus on psychotherapeutic models to aid individuals in understanding the role their brain plays in treatment. Educating individuals about brain structure, function, development, and explaining how neurobiology can be applied to individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, and other disorders. Interpersonal neurobiology of human development aids us to understand that structure & function of the mind & brain are shaped by our experiences especially involving emotional relationships.

I am passionate about psychology and aim to provide effective assistance for those struggling with mental health. I focus on humanistic, critical, and community psychology and value the importance regarding individuals personal and lived experiences with mental health.
