My interest in therapy started when I was at my breaking point, and my own therapy experiences didn't help. Since then, I've tried to be a therapist for anyone who found themselves in a similar situation, and sometimes being a helper isn't enough. I strive to connect with people where they are at, to understand what others might not, and to help when even the system lets you down. We all need an ally to get unstuck, reconnect and pick ourselves up, and I believe in doing so with warmth and respect. It can be tough to choose a stranger when we feel vulnerable and out of control. I've made it my goal to be someone worthy of that.

The adage “we repeat what we don’t repair” is especially true of couples. Couples often start therapy knowing that their relationship can and should be better, but they feel powerless to change. Constant fighting, threatening to leave, infidelity, always feeling distant, anxiety and depression—these are signs that something needs to change. Couples therapy with me focuses on helping you and your partner break these cycles by first understanding how they came to be. I offer a unique perspective that emphasizes the importance of exploring unconscious dynamics and your past’s influence in your relationship.

My experience has allowed me to work with people from all over the world with both chronic and minor mental health concerns. As a clinician I have worked with people who have depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, (PTSD)trauma and a history of family violence. My approach is primarily cognitive behavioral with a significant emphasis on the person's present. Those who would benefit are people who are looking at moving forward with their life with more deliberation and direction. Moving away from seeing themselves as the result of their circumstances but as the master of their being.
