I have been a licensed individual, marriage and family therapist for 30+ years and married for over 35 years. I received my Ph.D. with high academic honors from the University of Georgia. I respect each client's ethnicity, religion and cultural background, and strive to be authentic and honest while providing a safe and compassionate environment for change. My approach to individual and couple's counseling is collaborative and eclectic. I work in different ways with different people according to their needs.I try to give gentle and honest feedback and help you understand what it is about therapy that is working and why.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Atlanta, GA who works with adult individuals. I enjoy working with people of many different life experiences and am particularly passionate about supporting those who have been impacted by criminal legal systems. I frequently see clients for the following concerns: anxiety, depression & mood concerns, relationship & communication challenges, processing & coping with major transitions, support for those in helping professions, grief & loss, self-esteem & body image concerns, addiction recovery & support, gender dysphoria & gender transition support, and trauma.

Through an integrative approach that includes behavioral and art techniques, I work collaboratively with clients to explore their beliefs, emotions, and patterns of behavior. I work with clients and their systems to identify goals, encouraging them to take an active role in their therapy. I received a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Furman University in 2009 and a Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State in 2011. I became a counselor to assist people in finding and using their voices; I'm motivated to help others feel seen and heard.

My job is about hope. Many of my former clients tell me that they were surprised and relieved to feel so much better after therapy. They were unsure if they would ever find relief from the challenges they had. That is why I do what I do. It is a joy to share in that journey of healing. I specialize in anxiety, depression, and trauma. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help my clients process and move forward from their traumatic experiences. I love using play and expressive arts to engage children and adolescents. I also have a special place in my heart for those who struggle with eating disorders and self harm.

I have experience working with depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment to life circumstances, anxiety, trauma, substance use, anger management, stress, communication skills, relationships and marriages, conflict resolution and provide a supportive approach to nourish recovery. Change is a journey and I strive to offer insight and awareness in targeting triggers, managing symptoms, and overcoming challenges. Kimberly is a Licensed Social Worker who utilizes a variety of techniques and skills to draw upon individuals strength and help them navigate through challenges to achieve their goals. She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Toledo. She specializes in individuals, couples, and families. She has worked in several areas but has found herself most passionate about helping individuals dealing with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, interpersonal difficulties, low self-esteem, and self – confidence, body image, anger management, self-harm, domestic violence.

Anxiety and depression can cloud our judgment, closing us off from ourselves and others. Perhaps you have achieved your goals, yet still struggle with feeling “not good enough.” You may feel paralyzed, unable to move forward, continually engaged in self-destructive patterns of thoughts and behavior. What would it be like to quiet those anxious thoughts, experience lasting and genuine peace, and make positive change? I provide individual therapy to young adults and adults experiencing a range of concerns including substance use, trauma, life transitions, and the unique stressors men face. I approach counseling from the perspective that you already have strengths and abilities that you can use to become your strongest self. Together, we find those strengths and put them to work towards your goals. As part of this I often use Cognitive Behavioral therapy, a technique that looks at the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. It’s been shown to be incredibly effective at helping people make lasting changes in their lives.

Life can be filled with a lot of difficulty but it doesn’t need to be so overwhelming or confusing! If you feel numb, overwhelmed, or sad for no reason, then you are not alone. Finding relief and peace in these struggles is possible through therapy. As a therapist I believe in being a friend and a guide by providing tools to improve mental health, coping skills, opportunities to process emotions/events, and even space for venting if needed. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly and work primarily with adolescents and young adults who have/had experienced depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, sexual abuse, grief, and religious trauma.

As an experienced, licensed counselor, I understand what steps are needed to make real healing possible. Just like the physical body, healing for the mind and spirit requires time and it is important to know at the onset that the counseling process will be a journey, rather than a sprint. I provide my clients with a safe, non-judgmental space in which to share their story, helping them take their first steps on the path to lasting health. As a trauma-informed, source-focused counselor, I prioritize addressing the root source of a problem rather than its symptoms.

Hi there! I'm Edlíz and I love to work with young adults who are experiencing life transitions, anxiety, depression or other mental health illness, and self-esteem/interpersonal struggles. My goal is to create a solid therapeutic alliance and create opportunities in navigating these issues for self-understanding and validation because, let's be honest, adulting can be pretty hard sometimes. The structure I provide in therapy includes helping clients build skills to manage mental wellness and prevent distress in the future. I also support clients in finding purposefulness in their decisions to reinforce healthy identity development.
