I started my career as an electrical engineer in the aerospace industry, working and leading teams for the International Space Station and a satellite mission. Wanting to work more closely with people, I switched to business strategy consulting, traveling to Fortune 100 companies on a weekly basis for two years. While I got the chance to solve complex problems, I realized I wanted to help people solve the problems that mattered to them at a deeper level. This, coupled with my own recovery journey, is what drives me to do exceptional therapy work today.

In the realm of family planning, the significant issues of infertility & pregnancy loss tend to be overlooked, just like those who are experiencing these profound traumas. Some embark on the path of fertility treatments, including complex methods like IVF, while others proceed on the journey without them. As you navigate these foreign spaces, you encounter misunderstandings & judgments from individuals who can't comprehend your unique experiences. Amidst these circumstances, it can be difficult to maintain a sense of hope for positive outcomes, especially when you are consumed by the pain of losing someone you deeply love.

Welcome. I am glad you are here. As a person who was raised by POW survivors and refugees, I know intimately how trauma can be woven into the fabric of one’s history. I know first hand the hardship of coming face to face with the questions of “how do we live on in the wake of loss and/or betrayal?” and more importantly, “how can we begin to laugh again?”. The fact that you have found yourself here on this page tells me that you have already taken that first step beyond survival and towards deeper living.

Based on a holistic approach that encourages a healthy lifestyle for overall physical and psychological well being, I help my clients access and harness their intrinsic power to achieve and maintain the meaningful and fulfilling lives they desire. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who was trained at Columbia University, New York City, and the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health, New York City. I have worked in a variety of settings in New York City and here in North Carolina. I view therapy as a way of working on relationships or issues that are causing distress or problems in one's life. I use a variety of treatment modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness. I am a Humanist in terms of my philosophy. I see life as a journey. Therapy can make that journey more fulfilling.
