I've been in practice for over a decade and I provide services to adults in a relaxed, confidential space using trauma-informed modalities like EMDR and DBT. I am honored to journey with my clients as they explore their pasts, tackle present challenges, and pursue healthier futures. I enjoy working with individuals of all ages (from children and adolescents, teenagers, adults, and the elderly), as well as couples, families, and groups on diverse issues (e.g., life changes and day-to-day experiences, stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, psychosomatic, gender issues, LGTBQ+ issues, substance abuse, eating disorders, personality, disruptive behaviors, and so much more). I have a certification in working with clients who have experienced trauma and have extensive crisis training.

She has gained experience in the field of mental health through various state agencies and through her work with community-based programs. Yvette is a Red Cross Mental Health Volunteer and is currently strengthening her niche on issues that effect Older Adults/Couples with an emphasis on Sexual Health. This along with her foundation gained at Howard University and Virginia Commonwealth University, makes her a force in the field!

Hi! I’m a Certified Trauma-Informed Coach, Human Rights Consultant, and Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator specializing in premarital counseling and supporting young adults through life's transitions.

I started my career in a private foster care agency, then transitioned to a group practice for 7 years before opening my own practice. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I have specialized training in adoption and play therapy. I view counseling as a partnership between client and counselor. I value the therapeutic relationship as central to supporting clients in developing insight, increasing self-awareness, and processing hurts. I utilize a variety of strategies to assist clients with examining their patterns in thought, feelings, and behaviors, to increase understanding, and make adjustments toward improved functioning.
