I use mindfulness, CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and narrative counseling tools to help reach goals.
I approach counseling from a practical, client-centered approach. I believe in meeting people where they are at, setting attainable therapeutic goals, and fostering intentional self-exploration. My experience with clients focuses on changing behavioral patterns, dealing with interpersonal issues, exploring new coping skills, and addressing symptoms of depression and anxiety. I have worked facilitating group therapy for people diagnosed as HIV+, as well as individual counseling for LGBT+ people. I have a history of working with people experiencing substance use from both abstinence and harm reduction approaches.

Who am I? What am I doing with my life? Why am I having such a hard time? Many of my clients are searching for their place in the world and struggling with big and small questions alike. They might be exploring themselves and their spirituality, or they might be having trouble coping with anxiety or handling relationship issues. My belief is that all questions- large and small- are worth exploring thoughtfully. My goal is to help clients gain a deeper sense of insight and purpose while doing so.

Everyone has the potential to make life-affirming changes. However, many of us move through our lives relying on unhealthy coping mechanisms. Learning to pause and reframe our responses to difficult situations can create better outcomes, deeper relationships, and more life satisfaction. You bring a unique sense of self determination into the therapeutic space. Using a strengths-based perspective, we’ll build upon the gifts you already possess to bust through the patterns of thinking and behavior keeping you from accomplishing your goals.

Therapy offers us a powerful space for reflection, healing, and liberation, but, just like life, it’s not always an easy process. I’m here to be your ally through every step of this journey, to make your therapy as smooth, supportive, and helpful for you as possible. Above all else, I aim to cultivate a space of openness and peace, where you feel not only seen and valued for who you are, but also heard and supported for what you’re going through. No topic is off-limits – seriously – I’m here for it all!

I believe that we all struggle, at times, to cope with difficult feelings. You know, the ones that have been with us all our lives? The ones that make us feel stuck and hopeless at times? I also believe that we can make some sense out of our feelings by examining past relationships. With this awareness we can begin to look at your current feelings and relationships. In a non-judgmental environment, come as you are. We will approach this together.

You are not alone in your struggles. In a world that often stigmatizes therapy as something only 'crazy' people do, it's crucial to recognize that seeking help is a brave and empowering choice. Quality therapy has the power to transform your life in ways you may never have imagined. It's an investment in yourself—a step towards reclaiming control over your feelings, relationships, and future. If you're tired of feeling like external forces dictate your emotions, walking on eggshells in your relationships, being overly critical of yourself, or feeling trapped by your past, therapy can offer a path towards healing and growth.

In a world filled with so many stressors, everyone deserves a safe space to process and explore ways to feel better. Often times, it is people and situations that we encounter daily that cause us to feel sad or anxious, and having a supportive therapist to talk with can actually make life more meaningful and enjoyable.

So many of us desire to feel more connected, less anxious, and less alienated, but we simply do not know how to achieve this reality. This is especially true for some of us who have experienced attachment disruptions, or even more severe forms of trauma. Or, perhaps we see a path forward, but that path vanishes suddenly without warning and is replaced by malaise and renewed uncertainty, or, even worse, despair. Our work together will focus on developing that path in such a way where it will endure even in the face of adversity and the intrusion of the past into the present.

Have you been disappointed in how you react in certain situations, in how patterns from your past repeat themselves? For many of us, losses or harms of the past haunt our present and complicate our choices. You may feel stuck or adrift, unable to find traction toward your goals or hounded by an inner critic or persistent shame.
