Do you feel stuck, disconnected, unfulfilled, or overwhelmed? In our work together, we can move towards a deeper connection with yourself, romantic partners, family, friends, or colleagues. As your therapist, I strive to help you enjoy greater intimacy, authenticity, freedom and meaning in life. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families to shift unhealthy patterns, gain insight, improve communication, and feel more emotionally connected. My approach explores our foundational experiences and relationships in order to better understand how we feel and act within our current relationships.

My work is driven by the core belief that people can change. My goal is to help you have the kind of experiences, interactions and intimate relationships you want in your life so that you can feel connected, seen, and valued. I find that old wounds from past trauma can reopen in present day life experiences. I help my clients sort out what happened then and what is happening now. We’ll talk about how you feel about it and I’ll listen closely and empathically to what you both say and don't say. After that, we can work together to figure out the next steps to set boundaries and express what you need in a way that others can hear.

Starting therapy can take a lot of strength and courage. I am here to partner and collaborate with you on that journey. I work to build a therapeutic relationship that is supportive, compassionate, and trusting. My approach is active, non-judgmental and goal-oriented. I specialize in treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), the purely obsessional subtype (Pure-O) and anxiety disorders (e.g., generalized, social, panic, health and phobias). I have expertise in addressing concerns related to perfectionism, body-image, mood challenges, and postpartum/perinatal issues.

There are many approaches to psychotherapy. Some techniques focus solely on insight and history without targeting specific issues for change. Others aim to identify and attack behavioral concerns but do not pave the way for growth with empathy and compassion. In the former, patients feel soothed and understood but ultimately frustrated by a lack of change, not knowing how to break free of their problematic patterns of behavior. In the latter, patients can feel as though they are following one-size-fits-all instructions from the therapist and develop feelings of shame over the challenges they face, not knowing from where the issues came.

Are you tired of holding it all together? All your life, you’ve had to be the best, do the best, and rise above your family trauma. At first, the load wasn’t that heavy. But now you’re not sure how much longer you can be the one everyone counts on. You’re exhausted by the pursuit of perfection. And for once you’d like permission to underachieve. To everyone else, you seem confident, successful, and put together. But they don’t know you’re struggling to keep yourself from crumbling to pieces. If it feels like too much, it’s because it is too much. You shouldn’t have to live every day holding on for dear life.
