I was raised to believe that richness of exposures and depth of trainings make for the best professionals. Before I became a therapist myself, I earned a Ph.D. in an allied field and spent 16 years teaching, at UCLA, USC, and Antioch University West; then I went back to school for clinical training. I specialized in children and families as a base and then went further for psychoanalytic training, one program for adults, another for children and adolescents.

Alexandra is a Spanish speaking Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her experience consists of working in many diverse settings including youth mobile crisis, emergency departments, inpatient hospitals, and with individual, group, and family therapy. While working in various roles, she has found a passion for working with children and their families and young adults. Throughout Alexandra’s experience she has worked with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, self-destructive behaviors, ADHD, behavioral issues, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, trauma, and forensic social work working with incarcerated youths.

I have been working as a clinician in the mental health field for seven years, I have learned that out of all the treatment modalities that mindfulness is the most enriching for the entire body. Human beings often forget that we have no control over yesterday and no control over tomorrow, that we can only control what is happening right now. Being more in the moment. I have worked with and helped many people with a multitude of psychiatric issues, I find the brain fascinating, and I also believe that people think that they are alone when they aren't, and I enjoy helping people face those challenges.

My ideal client is looking for therapy to help them and wants to change their life for the better.
