We at Long Island Neurocare Therapy are the most experienced TMS practice on Long Island. TMS is a, drug-free treatment procedure, although patients can remain on medications that have been helpful to them. It is FDA approved for patients with Major Depressive Disorder who have not had satisfactory results from antidepressant drugs. TMS is non-invasive and NOT associated with any systemic side effects including memory problems, weight gain, or sexual dysfunction.

I have specialized in crisis intervention, brief interventional counseling, with particular emphasis on Mood Disorders, and medication management. I am a Board Certified Advanced Practitioner and Physician Assistant who specializing in providing care to those affected by a wide range of psychiatric conditions. I specialize in medication management of a wide range of psychiatric conditions primarily including, depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, Bipolar and other Mood Disorders, PTSD and substance use disorders. I offer medication management only when necessary, while recognizing that each individual is unique and requires an individual treatment plan for optimal mental health and wellness outcomes.

I am double-boarded in Adult, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and have been in practice for about 30 years. I was the former Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn. I have expertise in the management and treatment of a broad spectrum of psychiatric conditions, especially in the younger age group. I have extensive experience in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy, and I am committed to providing compassionate, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based mental health care that is customized to meet each of my patients' individual needs.

Manpreet Kaur Nijjar, DNP is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She is Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She graduated with a Doctorate from Columbia University specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from University of Delaware. Dr. Nijjar has 5 years of psychiatric experience working in outpatient and inpatient settings with adolescents and adults. She treats varies disorders such as MDD, bipolar disorder, GAD, PTSD, OCD, and ADHD with medication management and psychotherapy.

I have been both a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and a Pediatric Medical Registered Nurse for over 15 years. I have helped heal the child physically, and emotionally. I’ve assisted pre-teens and teenagers through their transition into adulthood. My youngest patient was one hour old, my eldest was 102 years old. I have traveled the country and have met, cared for, and treated people of different backgrounds, cultures, socioeconomic status, race, sexual orientation, and gender. My work experience as a Psychiatric NP includes an emergency room, outpatient, and inpatient psychiatric unit.

Medication is only recommended when symptoms get in the way of daily living. When one becomes debilitated in the realms of work, home and self to the degree that functioning is painful and inadequate then relief is essential. Suffering can be useful but when it gets in the way of healthy development its time to make changes. I provide the Medication Management services to help achieve overall balance.
