I'm a psychoanalyst who works with adults, children, couples and families, and have a subspecialty in sexual difficulties. I have taught and written about issues across many areas of the life cycle, and am probably best known for my treatment and teaching about couple and family difficulties. Although I am a psychiatrist, I only prescribe for patients I treat with psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.

I offer psychoanalysis and psychotherapy and I do not prescribe medication. Together, we focus on understanding your symptoms and mastering your upsetting impulses, conflicts, and relationships. You will learn to modify the way that early relationships affect current relationships. You’ll make links between your thoughts, feelings, and experiences now and in the past, decode your dreams, recognize your ways of protecting yourself, and acknowledge how you have been held back so you can then move forward in career, friendship, and love.

I am a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist and psychoanalyst providing individual psychotherapy, play therapy, couples therapy, pharmacotherapy and psychoanalysis to patients for the following presenting symptoms: anxiety, depression, poor school performance, stuttering, lack of motivation, and finding oneself in relationships with people who are devaluating and/or abusive. My interpersonal focus is to help each patient become aware of what he or she consciously or unconsciously does that prevents the patient from developing developmentally enhancing relationships with significant others.

You may be feeling anxious, depressed, fearful, angry, uncomfortable in social situations, or experiencing other emotional difficulties. Perhaps someone you care about is having problems. Although psychological issues can cause upsetting thoughts and feelings, physiology (body and brain) may also play a role.
