I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with dual certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma School of Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Cal State San Marcos. I obtained my post-master's certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from National University. In addition to medication management, I use a combination of CBT and emotionally focused therapy. The theoretical approaches that I use are humanistic and cognitive perspectives.

While initially interested in psychology- and receiving my undergraduate degree in it- I initially resisted the inclination to go into psychiatry during medical school. However, during my clinical rotations, the psychiatry rotation was the one that left me feeling the most excited, engaged, and “alive.” I recognized this was my calling and continue to feel humbled and grateful to work with my patients.

Her clinical career took on a journey through the healthcare system, from inpatient level of care, outpatient to correctional settings. Her expertise is in medication management and treatment of adults and young adults with depression, anxiety disorders, mood disorders and psychotic disorders.

Patricia Tinglin is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in California who has been practicing since 2017. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of San Francisco and is dually board-certified in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in many diverse areas as a Nurse Practitioner, including psychiatry, primary care, urgent care, pulmonary medicine, and academia.
